people need to give Haye some respect. he is a 2 weight belt holder and no one has ever won a belt over coming the discrepancy in size that he faced against valuev.

his resume at hw is decent considering how **** the divison is, who did you want him to fight? beating chisora & valuev is the next best thing to beating a klit. it is not like he would deserve more respect if he had beaten chambers, solis, adamek or any of the other joke contenders from this era.

if haye even half gives a **** he will ko fury. fury *is* a hype job and haye is proven as a good fighter at HW.

He'll have a decent resume if he knocks out Fury and Charr.

it's quite a shitty resume, considering that Haye is actually one of a very small group of fighters who has the tools to be a very decent HW in an era dominated by one guy

He is fun to watch. Feels like he might get in trouble, or score a knockout every given moment.

His artificial trash talk-personality is unnecessary and counter productive, in my opinion.

    Valuev
    Chisora
    Ruiz

are good solid wins. the others don't mean squat.

Ruiz may have been getting on in age, but he was still proving to be world class by only losing by close decisions to Valuev and Chagiev.

  8. It is what it is.. I'll give him a pass for fighting Barrett and Ruiz, they were testers at heavyweight, just testing the waters.

Valuev was a **** fight but he did do just about enough to walk away with the title.

Don't read much into the Chisora win, don't rate him that highly.

This Fury fight will be his highest profile win but it's nothing to write home about. I think if Haye would of fought a couple of the younger contenders a few years back, like Adamek, Arreola, and even Povetkin he would of got a lot more respect. Funny thing is I think all those are very winnable fights for Haye.

Thing is with Haye is he wanted to build a profile at heavyweight but with the least risk whilst making copious amounts of dough, It's worked well for him because he's a multi millionaire now and has chosen his opponents very carefully. Tyson Fury is prime example of that, that fight is going to generate millions and let's be honest it's mostly because Tyson Fury is a gonk and talks ****, it's not actually off how talented he is.

Good luck to Haye I say... because one thing is for sure It's all good and well me saying he's taking less risk with the opponents he has faced at heavyweight but I wouldn't exactly like to go in there against a 7ft 1 Russian who looks like a neanderthal, or a 6ft 6 Ukrainian Ivan Drago look a like, or a big 6ft 9 pikey who sounds like he's got two brain cells in his head.

They are all huge ****ing people who I wouldn't exactly like to take a dig off. I would for millions of quids though.

I'd consider him 0-1 in HW title fights since his WBA "title" was won in a bogus title fight against Valuev who had lost it to Chagaev who in turn lost it to Wlad.

Don't recall ever reading Barrett was in such a bad way :-(

Can't add much to the above. Haye's resume at HW is decidedly mediocre.

    Over rated?

I didn't think anybody rated it at all :p

In all honesty though, Valuev and Chisora were very good wins. And he did fight (and lose) against Wladimir.

Barrett was his first Heavyweight fight. Probably picked him solely to test the waters.

    Ruiz was mandatory.

in a division where everyone is avoiding each other and most 'prospect's are crushing cans, haye's resume is actually decent.
i'm including his challenge to wladimir in that too.

Lol and Haye is fighting everyone right. David needs a fighter to be look vulnerable before he takes them on.

the only reason Haye gets a pass for Ruiz is because for reasons unknown, Ruiz was his WBA mandatory, otherwise, he is not a good scalp for Haye, he was 3-4 in his last fights (one of those loses changed to a NC after Toney testes positive for an illegal substance), he fought Valuev and Chagaev 4 years before he fought Haye, but what you have to give Ruiz is that he actually tried to beat Haye, despite getting battered for 9 rounds and being over the hill

Valuev was only actually considered top 10 due to a string of dodgy decisions going his way in the build up to that fight.
