The HW division has been **** for years!!

As talented as the K bros are, the HW division is garbage to watch. It is full of Fat American HWs, or dull EuroBots.

That would be a plus for American media. If they were Irish or English, they'd be the biggest thing on the market.

I saw it coming if indeed HBO is serious..........

BUT!! All bull**** aside, V.K.'s TKO over Arreola was HBO's highest rated normal fight telecast for 2009....... Are we, the public, suppose to blow that off?

Still, the K-bros. are big hits in Germany and Switzerland..... I doubt K-2 productions is shittin' bricks about HBO......

    You know what I'm saying?

Also, if every sports network that lost money on broadcasts refused to show their respective sports, we wouldn't have any sports. Did you know, for example, that the NBA finals have lost money 5 out of the last 6 years? That's right! Ratings are down 50 percent since Jordan retired. Did the network that airs the the NBA finals refuse to show the games? Of course not, because they would have been laughed out of the business. But for some reason HBO gets away with it.

I'm not saying they should show every Klitschko, Adamek or Haye fight. Certainly, Vitali vs. Sos was a joke. But when you have the number one heavyweight (Wlad) fighting the number one contender, an undefeated gold medalist (Povetkin) and you refuse to show the fight...How can you continue to promote your network as a great boxing network? It would be the equivalent of ABC refusing to show the NBA finals because they feared they might not make money.

It is also important to note that we do not know if they are actually losing money on Klitschkos bouts. We know that they had their highest ratings of the year on Vitali vs. Arreola, for instance. They were just fine making money on that. But when it comes it important fights at heavy, they'd rather show reruns of their dreadful shows like True Blood.

No one's saying HBO should show all of their fights. But if you promote yourself as a boxing network, you can't refuse to show important fights because you fear you might not make a killing.

sports division dude... not the whole network.... and I have talked to Manny... HBO sports division had MAJOR cut backs and could be in serious trouble

Your hate for the brothers has missed the point that HBO is dropping the entire HW division... this is not good for BOXING

As boxing fans (regardless of who you like or hate) we need to stand up for boxing

DROP HBO and let them know why you are dropping them

If i was to show a Wlad fight to a friend that wasn't into boxing they would ask me never to show them a boxing match again. I know because this has happened to me. Wlad is ****ing terrible for the sport; he is too boring. At least when you watch flloyd you get to see some masterful defensive moves etc. Wlad just sticks out a pole for twelve rounds. He is the best heavweight, yes! I get it! He would give many ATG problems but he is too boring and this is a good move from HBO. Spend what money they have on fights that are interesting.
