This pretty much covers it. The three most popular fighters in the world are Manny Pacquiao, Wladimir Klitschko and Vitali Klitschko. Not necessarily in that order. You have to understand where HBO is coming from. They have decided to hitch their wagons to promoting boxing as a kind of reality show, with the 24/7's and such. One of HBO's current star attractions is a dysfunctional, studio gangster family with numerous criminal raps whose members often strain to sound coherent, much less sensible or logical. People like the train wreck, and the Mayweather clan brings that. They are, in some ways, kind of like an urban group of hillbillies, hopelessly messed up and self-defeating. It can be compelling television, if you like that sort of thing. Against this backdrop, the Klitschkos don't fit. They're not criminals. They each have Ph.D.'s. They don't retire for years at a time to avoid tough fights and they don't break down and cry in post-fight press conferences because famous stars like Tiger Woods and Charles Barkley walked out of their boring fights. This is a cultural clash thing, and it says as much about where the American market is as it does about where the Klitschkos are. It's not about boring fights; no one has more lamentable fights than does Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Sometimes your former partners do you a favor by blowing you off. For the Klitschkos, their disassociation with the cesspool that is HBO is probably not going to be a bad thing for them as their careers continue.
You're delusional, you're delusional Boy, you're losing your mind. The first and last time I'll quote a Mariah Carey song on ESB
Shut up, we get spared from god-awful boring fights. If Klitschko's care about the fans then they'll sign on for Haye or Adamek vs them if that happens. Otherwise their petty grudges will have them showcased in front of a smaller audience. Though, I love Showtime and probably would be more happy since it would be free. But HBO is where the best in boxing is.
how is Showtime picking up fights instead of HBO delusional? HBO thinks they are "The cats meow" (as they say) of boxing... they are not and im kinda tired of them acting like so. Everything they do is like dealing with a cocky big headed child. I have seen it first hand at wlads fights. the way they treat RTL and others... they are a joke
Did you not read the whole thing?.... they said NO HW FIGHTS... hate the brothers...FINE... but this is bad for boxing as a sport which is already on the decline for years in the US Look at the big picture "If they care about the fans they will sign on Haye"???:huh What the **** have they been trying to do for 2 years?
"Nicky Valuev is twice as big and three times as talented as even my own dead boyfriend, Jack Dempsey." ~Bert Sugar, September 2001 Issue of Russia Today!
Showtime is never going to overtake HBO by picking up Wlads fights. I don't like the fact that HBO is so PPV oriented, but let's face it... they pick up the best fights. If I was a fighter, I might side with Showtime because the people get to see free boxing (Before the subscription to Showtime). At the same time, HBO puts the elite shows on. You not going to order Pac vs Floyd either? By boycotting HBO, you're boycotting boxing. Do you hold Wlad's dick for him when he takes a **** too? I know he employs you but a tad bit of objectivity wouldn't do anyone any harm... unless he lurks around ESB to see your posts. Don't want to upset the boss.
