And when you become a trainer/cornerman, you make a deal with yourself too: "My main priority is preserving the health of my fighter. I help him along as much as I can, but if I see him in a hopeless situation where he's only going to get punished, I stop the fight". That's done deliberately to counterbalance the fact that fighters often don't think or have regard for themselves.

What kind of fighter is Lennox?? NONE. He's a commentator now. Hence, he speaks as a commentator and observer, not a fighter.

Of course it was the right thing to do.

he was getting smacked like a little ***** round by round, and not doing anything.

What's the purpose of letting your fighter continue if he isn't landing any punches?

    :hi:

So, you see yourself as more of a man that Lennox Lewis I take it. Interesting.

Remind me, how many times have you been the HW champion of the world?

Secondly, pride is one thing and credit to Malignaggi, the kid has got great guts and wanted to continue. But he had no chance whatsoever of victory, and was taking a beating. His trainer decided that his charge was taking unnecessary punishment and so finished the fight. He could have continued yeah, but only for pride, which when all said and done is not as important as your health and long term career.

So quit calling Lennox Lewis a ***** from the comfort of your armchair.

I could say anyone's a *****, freedom of speech. He's a brilliant fighter, don't get me wrong. I'm not really a big fan though. Let's just say if we stuck him in the 70's Lennox couldn't hang with those guys, I would even push it down to the fifties. He never did anything for me as a boxing fan, yea he was the heavyweight champion, in the 90's, AKA heavyweight boxing going down the toilet.

Is your heart as big as your (own) words?
Are you a professional fighter and something like that (your coach stopped it) happened to you?

You people really need to relax with all these "How about you, *****, you're no heavyweight champion."

Listen ****ers, I'm speaking in the way I would if I was. If I was a fighter I would want my corner to have nothing to do with how the fight goes unless I tell them exactly what to do and when to do it. For example, if I'm getting my ass kicked and I look like I don't know where I am, that's when you start chucking towels into the ring, not in the middle of the ****ing fight.

I swear sometimes I feel like every sport has gone *****, and I'm right, every sport including boxing has gotten more ***** then how it used to be. In the 70's sports where how they should have been played/fought. You played for pride and for money. Now its just money and fame and all that other bull ****. No heart, no pride. And I'm not saying all of boxing has become this, but Jesus man, have some respect for you're sport. Another thing that Lennox said that makes him look like a douche bag.

This is Lennox speaking about how he would fight again.

“If someone wants to pay me serious money, 100 million dollars or so, then I will fight again,” Lewis said. “I don’t have to do this. I don’t need the money and my legacy speaks for itself. But boxing needs me -- the heavyweight game is so boring now ... I would like to save my sport.”

Save you're sport? Ok, you can go save you're sport for like three million, **** you're 100 million. Who the **** are you dude? You have a nice job at HBO, I'm sure you're living life. And hell, I can understand you wanting to "save you're sport", because Heavyweight boxing sucks ass, but 100 Million, to save you're sport. He ****ing contradicts himself, "I don't need the money", well it looks like you do if you're asking for 100 Milly.

Show's how much respect this ****er has. If you want to "save you're sport" you would do it for nothing or less than a million. Especially with commentating to fall back on. He's a douche.

now you know why you've never been a fighter.

you got no respect or understanding.

you're just sitting on the end of your computer pounding out on people who know the sport better than you do.

but you're doing it out of ignorance and all the crap you can talk (like you just did above) isn't going to change what you need to learn to come back here and really know waht you're talking about.

    don't do that.

I kind of get your point now.
But I think Lennox wasn't serious.

About Malignaggi: Which boxer ever showed his happiness after their coach (just) stopped it? They don't and will always say ''I could've continued''.

    Peace

Why because I'm talking **** about a heavyweight fighter? I admit that, I am talking **** about him. He deserves to be spoken to like that, he's got no class. Demanding money like that to make a "comeback to save his sport" If I where in charge of the money circulation in boxing, he wouldn't get a ****ing dime.

I have no respect? I'm showing respect right now. I respect Lennox as a boxer, I really do, honest. But sincerely, you just don't do that. You don't go around hyping up a fight, then demand 100 Million. Also, I'm sitting at the end of my computer, and so are you? So how are we different? Its a forum

Forum-A public meeting place for open discussion. If you don't like other peoples opinions, then just don't ***** about it.

You guys think you're going to make me leave the forum to go "think it over" and "Learn" about what I'm talking about. No, I'm actually not leaving at all.

And I'm sure if you were an action hero you would rather sacrifice yourself to save others, and if you were a ****ing Greek warrior you would rather kill yourself than lose your pride.

The fact is though, you are none of these things, therefore totally unqualified to say what a HW champion should say and do based upon your silly fantasy of being the HW champion.

I can imagine being Achilles, it does not qualify me to give him **** and call him a ***** in real life, you ****ing moron.

i agree sir, if paulie was hurt hurt he would have been stoped then right ? thats why we have knockdowns and knockouts and ten counts right ?
i can see why they stoped it from that stand point but i personally think that
the fight should have continued.he was taking some shots but the ref was not even thinking about stoping the fight, hatton was just being hatton.if he would have been stoped then so be it.but let him go out on his shield id say.he never was down and he never was stunned real bad after 2nd rd.but what do i know, im still pissed at richard steele for that stunt he pulled some yrs back.

Then what's the point of speculating sports? Commentators say "I would have done it this way..." all the time. Its a part of enjoying the sport, you need to put yourself in the shoes of others sometimes. Stop thinking that you have certain boundaries, you can actually can think of the way you would do that, unless of course you're a gutless little **** that can't be a man of you're word. Which is about 90% of the internet.

it sounds to me like you're trying to mirror achilles now from the safety of your home.....

you want to throw judgments like that around over the net you better be prepared to say it to people face to face to prove your character.

what you just said now was bad form - and yuo cant say it face to face, i promise.

if you could, you would leave the lame cheap shots alone.
