I'd rather Stevenson fight Hopkins, Ward, Cleverly, Froch or Kovalev. Cloud needs to get to the back of the queue. He could fight Dawson on the undercard in a loser leaves town fight

Quick to strip, aren't we?! When was the last time you saw a brand new, first time champ defending against a mandatory in their first title defense? Bellew said he would come to Montreal... Stevenson might fight Cloud to pocket some nice cash (Cloud's actually a live dog if you consider Stevenson's suspect chin), with Bellew & BHop as primary options for his follow on fights.

    Yeah yeah. :D

I had lost interest after coming back from a $$$$ 4 day trip to England during which I saw my favourite guy getting dismantled in [less than 5, really] and I got real busy with work... a sprint to finish teaching three serials of a trade course we're now re-developing like a bunch of air force madmen.

The fact that NBC is now in the broadcasting mix, some buzz about Floyd vs Canelo, Broner stepping up in class and division, BHop dominating Cloud to effect karma on behalf of Campillo, Stevenson icing Dawson, Kovalev walking through decent light heavy journeymen... got me back here. Too bad Ward still only fights once a year, he probably thinks he's at Floyd's level fanbase wise.

And NBC are pushing for Kovalev - Cleverly, you could tell they were insisting for this match up.

I think this is a good fight, if Stevenson wins, I guess the hype is real.

No, this is not. And Stevenson already proved he was for real by destroying the champ.
Cloud was outclassed by Campillo who's a 2nd tier light heavy at this stage, so this fight is bs. Apart from coming off arguably two losses, what has Cloud done to deserve a title fight ?
Hopkins getting a shot at the ibf belt after the Dawson loss was already fishy, but this is a joke.

    edit:
Stevenson's camp will try and get the "big fights", that can potentially make the biggest money, and at Stevenson's advanced age, i doubt they will be eager to cash in against someone like Cloud.

Seeing how White was WBO #2 in the rankings, NBC might have a case. But where? Twisted F.rank is not fond of sending his fighters over to the US, and Cleverly has the belt. Is NBC willing to broadcast out of the UK?! Or is this the fight where Cleverly comes to America to make it big?

Edit: even F.rank with a W is censored, lmao... the Stevenson-Cloud fight is supposed to stage the Stevenson-Hopkins fight, that's all.

I think Cloud-Stevenson is more competitive than Kovalev-Stevenson would be. I think Kovelev wrecks him.

I can see Andre Ward chomping at the bit to nab that Lineal belt off Stevenson. Hopkins, too for that matter.

Why Cloud? There are so many better matchups to be made.

    Bellew gets stopped as well.

Weak fight IMO, Stevenson has waay too much to lose, Cloud is coming off a defeat to a grandfather for ****s sake..

I understand why tho... Is HBO protecting something or someone??

Bellew won the eliminator fair and square, even if he loses hes at least earned a chance to fight for the WBC strap

    Heres what I propose :

    Adonis Stevenson Vs Tony Bellew
    Tavoris Cloud Vs Isaac Chilemba

    Bernard Hopkins Vs Sergey Kovalev
    Jean Pascal Vs Lucien Bute

    Bellew/Stevenson winner Vs Hopkins/Kovalev winner
    Pascal/Bute winner Vs Cloud/Chilemba winner

IBF/WBC unification which leaves Cleverly and Shumenov (wherever he is) to fight each other

I fail to read between the lines here... what are you sayin? HBO's keeping Don King from going bankrupt?!

Considering Stevenson's leaky defense and suspect chin, Cloud has more than a chance in this fight.

I agree with your thoughts on the fight. I think our friend is suggesting HBO is protecting Andre Ward.
