Hmmm. Yeah, I wonder what Andre thinks of Stevenson's proposal i.e. 1 fight @ 168 in Oakland and 1 fight @ 175 in Montreal. Some boxing reporter needs to call him up and ask.

HBO probably thinks Stevenson will smoke Cloud and will use the fight to hype a fight vs Hopkins, who will certainly not fight Kovalev.

Actually....thats about as clear cut as you can get.

Perfect really....that tournament would absolutely sew up the division and give the clear #1.

Only problem is that would leave Bute fighting Kovalev.....and as a Bute fan.....that's something I never need to see.:yep

I really like Cloud i was disappointed when he couldnt beat Hopkins, the guy has a great work rate usually and i dont think many light heavies can go toe to toe inside with him

This will be a great or potentially short fight

    Welcome back, Drozzy.

Stevenson-Cloud is a good match up. Cloud seems to have a good chin but his defense is not the best of the category. On the other hand, he hits hard and Stevenson's chin can be a problem. Who will get to the other one first?

+1 HBO needs to showcase Stevenson at least one more fight before making a big fight (Hopkins, Ward, winner of Pascal-Bute).

I think this thread is crazy. just like vs dawson everyone is saying it will be easy for cloud.

at least in accordance with thread I'm going with the "upset" but I have a feeling Stevenson will be the Vegas favourite.

Clearly HBO is trying to give him a showcase fight. Cloud is not a showcase opponent.
He's a (usually) high volume punching, banger with a good chin. And contrary to
how B-hop made him look I believe him to be more polished than Adonis. This could
    backfire on HBO.

This will never happen. First and foremost, Bute and Pascal are getting near the end of the line. They are both injury prone. They are looking for fights that pay them really good money. A fight against Cloud or Chilemba does nothing for their wallets so you can forget about it. Plus, there is a rematch clause for their fight against each other. If the first fight is even remotely close they will do it again.

I also don't see Stevenson fighting Bellew. Bellew is not a well known name in North America at all. HBO/Showtime would reject that fight.

    Hey Laffie!!

Cloud had all the trouble in the world figuring out Campillo after round 1 of their fight, I'm not sure if he -now- knows how to move around a southpaw. Obviously if both Stevenson and Cloud start up fast and try to intimidate one another in the early rounds, this could end quick - for either guy. Steward once told Stevenson, who was at 168 at the time, "If you can ever get a shot at Dawson or Cloud, do it, they're made for your style". I think it could be a pretty exciting fight while it lasts!

Correct, at least as per what Superman thinks.

Stevenson: "Tony Bellew is not a big name and I wan't to fight big names. I'm the champion. He's my number one challenger and I don't have a problem fighting him but he has to wait. I want big names and big fights and after I've finished, I'll give him a shot. I don't have a problem with Bellew". (live fight . com)
