HBO should bring in Paul Malignaggi or tarver to replace steward

I was hoping the high caliber of fighters, great punditry and glorious weather might attract him to find work on British TV.

 

no way they shouldnt have malignaggi. wtf has he acomplished? they need to have guys who have actually done something like roy jones, srl, dlh, malignaggi is a paper champion he has no business on tv.

You'd rather have guys who achieved more but can't articulate their ideas for ****, over someone who has been a very good boxer, with great experience and who is confident and eloquent when expressing their views and breaking down fights?

De La Hoya is a multimillionaire promoter. As if he's going to work for HBO commentating in the fights he's put together. Also, he sounds pretty thick when talking. Malinaggi > De La Hoya.

 

You don't need to be a great boxer to be a good pundit. Jones Jr.: great fighter, awful commentator.

 

Exactly. And also, just because you might not have been able to execute the skills to be a top top fighter doesn't mean you can't understand the sport inside out and be just as knowledgeable as those guys.

Just look his many top trainers never had an exceptional pro career, but they understand the sport and can articulate that to people in a way that is easy to understand. That is a whole skill in itself.

Jones Jr is alright.
Lewis is **** commentator, except when he started laughing when some fighter got low blowed.

 

I don't care much for Tarver, but Paulie is a very good commentator.

 

Lewis wasn't great but Jones Jr. is too punch drunk and it looks like he shops at Value Village. HBO's obsession with Roy just needs to end.
