Holt launched forward as you say...but I guess Torres was going backwards.

You are obviously hinting at intent here...and I guess that is your opinion. But the facts are that Holt was moving in one direction (upward to the left), while Torres was moving in another direction (to the right)...they met in the middle.

There is no changing you on this (not even the video where its clear as can be), so no point in arguing it further.

A head butt will throw the movement of a boxer and his train of thought off by tenths of a second. Within tenths of a second a punch can be thrown that otherwise could have been slipped rather than landed flush. Admittedly it was not an intentional butt but in the infamous words of joel cortez.........RULES ARE RULES. Seemingly this only applies " sometimes."

At the point of the head butt.....( by regulations) the fighter who was head butted should have had time to recover which would negate any over-inflated body shot and/or left hook right hand.

In the heat of battle many things run through your mind , such as " why didn;t the ref see that,,,,," what's going on here" and it all happens in a split second which is enough time to be knocked out.
It's a breech in concentration that can make or break any fighter regardless of how skilled.

Sorry folks, I call foul here and suggest a rematch, based on Joel Cortez AND THE COMMISSIONS POINT OF VIEW.
Further adding to this....if we're going by the rules and if a clearly BEATEN fighter can be awarded championship belt due to a refs poor judgement, then these rules should be applied to every fighter and not just one or two.

Crap . . . why? Do you think all media are from U.S.? :think

Here's something from a 24hrs boxing news site:

    Holt KOs Torres in one!
    By xxxxxxxxxx at ringside
In the wildest fight of the year, Kendall Holt (24-2, 13 KOs) scored a spectacular first round knockout over reigning world super lightweight champion Ricardo Torres (32-2, 28 KOs) to seize the WBO belt on Saturday night at the Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas. Torres came out fast and knocked down Holt twice. However when Torres came in for the finish, Holt connected with a huge right hand that knocked Torres out cold.

The bout lasted just 61 seconds. Torres had scored an eleventh round stoppage of Holt in a chaotic atmosphere ten months ago in Barranquilla, Columbia, but Holt returned the favor with interest, leaving Torres hanging motionless from the bottom rope.

The championship has not actually changed hands. I believe it is now vacant and the verdict overturned to a NC.

You don't wobble with your legs when you take a good bodyshot. In fact your legs are harder to move, not easier.

    Idiot.

    WHAT???

Your legs dont wobble from a body shot??? Your legs MOST DEFINATELY wobble from a body shot (obviously you have never boxed before...LMAO). Hense why fighters who get KOd from body shots CRUMBLE under their own weight...because getting a clean shot to the body TAKES YOUR LEGS OUT FROM UNDER YOU!?!?!?!

And then you call ME an idiot. My god, delete your screenname and save yourself the embarassment.

Legs dont wobble from a body shot......

    What a jerkoff.

    :patsch

Here eze (since you have such a nice avatar), let me school you a lil bit...

    [yt]EtBo7Y_I3JE[/yt]

Gatti - Ward 1...watch Gatti get hit to the body, his legs stiff as the blow lands, yet look weak as he is backtracking (hmmm, sounds familiar to tonights dont it???)...Arturo then crumbles under the weight of his body (because his WEAKENED legs cant hold him up!!)

    [yt]6UeYWanxhfs[/yt]

Hatton - Castillo...again, body shot lands, legs get weaker, fighter backs away and crumbles under his own weight.

    [yt]iHQPtG7M1cE[/yt]

Hopkins - De La Hoya...this time the angle is perfect to where you can actually SEE Oscar's legs buckle at the knees...and OH MY, look which direction his body is moving in...backwards until he crumbles.

    [yt]VtC1edr-IWA[/yt]

And just too top it off, I found a lil amatuer one for you to see. Watch the guy in the red lay a VICIOUS body shot on the guy in the white. And watch as he BACKTRACKS and his legs WOBBLE...if it wasnt for the ropes, he would have crumbled as well.

I really cant believe you actually called me an IDIOT on something you were WRONG about??? Wow...just wow.

One more...just because its a PERFECT angle.

    [yt]f5Vb1u0TEwg[/yt]

Cotto - Quintana....watch how weak his legs get and how they just give out from under him as he is backtracking.

Its ok tho bro...at least your avatar is nice!!!

There also seems no mention of Torres hitting Holt seemingly after Holt had:

    a) been knocked down

    and

    b) after the referee had called break.
