Of course it's bad for fans, but it's what Frank wanted and campaigned for. Definitely some schadenfreude at work here.
Remember the Monday night wars in Wrestling ? It pushed both WWE and WCW to huge lengths to outdo each other. The net result was a huge increase in wrestling fans overall Competition is good and the odd clash is fine. It will push promotors to put on better events and better cards
Well it’s done nothing of the sort so far and it’s unlikely to any time soon while the current hegemony exists.
And in Whyte Chisora we have perhaps the worst PPV event on paper that the UK has ever seen Nah I know what you mean, but part of me thinks Hearn is happy with the added drama of a clash. The trick with some of these joke PPVs is to draw attention away from the actual boxing itself. The more side stories the better.
Read my post again and tell me what I said that gave you that impression? Seriously, I've read it back twice and I don't see me gloating, laughing, ripping FW.. I'm just stating an opinion and what I believe are facts.
Although WCW went out of business due to terrible management. How they killed that company unbelievable
Huge egos caused WCW to go out of business amongst other things and really nowadays, what is a clash ? You watch one live, you watch the other recorded. I will watch Whyte and Chisora live and Frampton afterwards
Generally yes people could do thats but with PPV it's different. Even the most dedicated boxing fan won't buy two ppv's on the same night.
You're both very enthusiastic about how one will bomb and the other will do well. Who cares about that? That shouldn't be the focus here. Fans now have to choose one over the other and that's not right. It's Eddie's fault this one is clashing but Warren has enabled it by changing the card clash rules previously. F.u.c.k Hearn and f.u.c.k. Warren! The sooner fans take their tongue out of the a.r.s.e of one promoter or the other, and focus on the betterment of the sport, the better. Anything else is enabling promoters to shaft fans To stroke their ego.
My friend, I don't wish to come across like a 24 carat moby or just be a picky ***** but you are assuming my opinion and/or putting a context on my post that I didn't. I do not see how me saying Warrington Vs Frampton will suffer and get killed by Chisora Vs Whyte is me "enthusiastic" about the other show bombing. I think to is fair to say Warren is talking like that are going to split boxing fans, they are not splitting them 50/50, Whyte Vs Chisora will be bigger. I think it's fair to say Warren up against almost any Hearn card wouldn't do well, Hearn has a far better stable of fighters in my opinion and could stick together a more interesting card, plus the promotional side of things, Hearn with Sky always seem to me to out gun Warren. I understand what you're saying to an extent but it is just business and the bottom line is Warren changed the rules, why? Because I'm assuming he at one point wanted to do this to another promoter or stick a show on when another promoter was sticking on a show so Warren in my opinion should just shut his mouth. As for fans suffering, it is a choice, you weigh up both shows and pick the one you want to watch most live, you can record one and watch it straight after.
For some reason the Premier League are not responding to my emails suggesting matches are staggered every two hours from 9am so that there are no clashes.
Don't think Warren helped himself this week with his media work with all the frampton vs Warrington is a real PPV talk etc etc. After a while it gets kinda annoying.
