Not being funny but you really do have a simplistic view on how deals are done especially something this big. Then there is the whole broadcasting problem. AJ cannot sign to fight on BT sport without DAZN approval. Tyson fury knows this. The broadcasting rights was always gonna be huge problem. Talks between BT and DAZN will take time to resolve. It's not some 1 hour meeting everything all agreed.
Funny how Andy Ruiz was contacted 1 week before he fought Joshua and fight went ahead no problem. Joshua has an undeserved opportunity to fight for the World Title and beat the most popular undefeated fighter in the UK. Course it can be done quick if he really wants to take up this unexpected opportunity. Joshua stated he accepted the terms leaving no excuses at all - he is a dirty ducker if this fight does not proceed.
This content is protected *****. The only true stress you’ve ever had son is what bottle of Creed to get next.
It doesn't take 2 weeks ffs. The people at the top meet up and don't end the meeting until the issue is resolved, how hard can it be ? What are they doing now, sending one email a day and waiting for a response ? The whole thing was stinking from the start and seemed like a shitty PR stunt.
Remind me about the huge exclusive TV broadcast deal Andy Ruiz had when he was offered the fight which would cause problems. Ruiz legal team was probably a recently qualified low cost lawyer. Lol Why are you ignoring DAZN's position in these negotiations. You seem to think AJ can just ignore his broadcast deal which is ridiculous. DAZN has huge voice in these negotiations.
No, Fury is really, really clever and would fight any man, anywhere. Joshua is really dumb and ducks everyone. That's all there is to this, of course, that's all that happened, nothing else involved.
I love the idea that Tyson will fight any man, any where. Yet he's giving AJ deadlines? Quack quack..
This is not right AJ has been offered an amazing deal. He received the contract TEN days ago and still hasn't sent anything back. The terms of the fight have been agreed already in terms of split etc The point remains, matchroom / AJ have a team of lawyers ready to go, it would literally take less than a day to get a read on it and say either sign it or send it back and say these are the problems. Matchroom haven't done it still after ten days. That can't be defended
If they wanted to they could get it done in a day. If the contract stated 80/20 split for AJ, fight on DAZN, the contract would have been signed and sent back the same day they received it so it's a fact they could read and then send it back in a day The big stuff is already agreed, purse split, location, rematch clause etc even acknowledgement from both camps it needs to be a dual broadcast and isn't a problem. So what exactly is taking ten days and counting to not sign, in fact, not even send back and adjusted contract with what they would like. Which is cheeky anyway as they are the ones looking a gift horse in the mouth here Hearn publicly stated he wanted to to a bounce back round the world tour with AJ. Against top 15 fighters. That's how low he currently thinks of AJ he wanted a top 15 guy. So in Hearns mind he sees round the world come back tour, big KOs, keep the money train pumping full steam ahead and build to a huge title fight in couple of years Now he's being presented with a fight with the number 1 or 2 guy in the division, who has a high chance of handing AJ his third loss in a row, potentially KOing him and destroying the money train Why would Hearn want to risk the fight happening, why take a gamble, even if he thinks it's a 50/50, his other plan is 95/5 in terms of the money train rolling on. The Fury fight has the potential to end it all They have had it for ten days and not sent anything back. Hearn does not want this fight to happen
Fury & AJ do not have to be involved in how BT and DAZN decide the price and divide the broadcasting. as long as they know they get 60-40 of everything they can sign a conditional contract to that effect & with whatever trivial details they like. a caveat that mention subject to broadcaster agreement & approval. & should be guaranteed a boat load of money each. the broadcasters can agree their own deal after the fight is signed. if the broadcasters are realistic & truly want the fight to go ahead it should not be a problem. but if not, then it was never going to happen anyway.
you are correct these boxers have good experienced lawyers on hand & they've seen boxing match contracts before & it's not some strange offer coming from some mysterious money man in Timbuktu people talking like it's the Good Friday Agreement or the Maastricht treaty or something long delays are understandable if the contract is being sent back & forth & points discussed & negotiated but if lawyers for the richest boxer in UK taking 10 days to read it. yeah that seem unlikely!
As low risk as Breazeale and Molina as consecutive title defences. He has literally just sent him over a deal that Joshua could not meet for whatever reason. This exchange has collapsed on Joshua's side - and probably related to Hearn, regarding Joshua's milking capacity. He's not yet spent, but would just about be following another loss. Better to milk him against another couple of shot fighters before the final roll of the die.
