Even if it's true, it's hardly a first. Lots of famous and successful people are overly fond if the sauce, including athletes. Can you show that it is true and where it has affected his boxing? :huh
Collin's lost his three big fights when based in America and then looked across the pond and eye'd up the big money being made by Eubank, Benn and Watson and said to himself none of those guys are in Roy Jones Jr's class but they are still making a serious amount of cash. Probably not that much different to the way Macklin is thinking. Collins a better fighter of course.
I wouldnt be too sure about that BB, bit harsh on Mack IMO. Matts performance against Sturm was as impressive as anything I saw Steve do, and Ive seen em both fight multiple times, including live...:good
True, but that's his biggest win. Matt has never won when it's counted. That's a fact. Don't get me wrong, I'll watch him every time he fight due to how exciting he is - No such thing as a boring Macklin fight. He just doesn't win big. :good
Perhaps, bit I suspect that the "big" ones that Matt lst were just too big. Peak Sergio and peak GGG were just a step to far. Certainly on a par with the calibre of guys Steve lost to. Also lets not forget Matts not retired yet. I know its a big ask but maybe he has a breakthrough win in him yet!!!! Steve enjoyed an Indian Summer in his career, maybe Mack will too. Plus Steve was incredibly lucky - catching Benn and Eubank at just the right time - and in the right weightclass. Steve was a lot bigger than Matt is and this gave him the option of a "second career" at 168, where he enjoyed most of his success. At 160 he was really no more successful, and certainly no better than Matt IMO.
