Hearn did not fly to the USA to negotiate. He’s promoting a fight in Brooklyn tonight.

All he has to do is say “We’ll take the fight at $50M” in public and they will be sitting down to negotiate the fine points. No one is legally bound until they sign contracts. He can then demand proof (in private ... this isn’t something that’s going to be announced in public) of where the $$$ is coming from, projected dates and venues, how TV/PPV works, etc.

Ball’s in AJ’s court. I believe Team Wilder wants the fight and AJ wants the fight and Hearn ... not so much, especially if he’s being outbid and doesn’t have control of the promotion. I also believe AJ is going to weigh in soon (not necessarily in public) and say “Let’s do this, I’ll take the big money and fight him in America or wherever.”

They’re always so predictable Wilder and co aren’t they,we all knew when they were saying we don’t want Stiverne again that they really did despite the networks not wanting it and now with Breazele catapulted up the rankings we knew this as well.
Whatever Wilder says you can be sure he wants the opposite,I’ve gone off AJ big time with his A side crap but the fact that he’s got the four belts does speak volumes.

People say Eddie Hearn is a lying, manipulating whatever, but the thing is, when he speaks it's all common sense backed up with facts, and he's never slow to respond to an unfolding situation.

Compare that to any of Wilder's team and it's night and day. Haymon says nothing, Finkel releases a few quotes every now and again, DiBella spouts absolute garbage full of evasiveness and incriminating statements (when you can pin him down), and Wilder just sounds like a wannabe gangster off his head on drugs.

No one ever knows the true facts of a situation, but Hearn is a lot easier to side with simply because he articulates what most everyone with a sound mind already thinks. Maybe that's just his special talent as a slimy snake oil salesman, but frankly I think it's more likely because Team Wilder are complete and utter BS artists.

Guess the proof of that will be Wilders purse against Breazele then,I mean for sure it’s not gonna be the dizzy heights of sharing out 50million but still with that kind of money you’d expect his next purse to considerably jump up from the 1-2 mill to at the least 5million no?

    Team Wilder wants the fight?

Care to explain why Breazeale has told the world he will be fighting Wilder in the summer?

    This.

Nothing said in that interview was bizarre or out of the ordinary.

Hearn just explained how any business arrangement between two parties would operate.

How can you take an offer from team Wilder seriously when it comes from Dentoy Wilder?
It's farcical and I think it's more likely this was done to try and make Matchroom counter offer.

Maybe cause we know with Hearn what his job his for Joshua but with Wilder his team seem to be hopeless to the point where Wilder has to phone up Youtube boxing channels by himself just to promote himself and for that you gotta admire the man as nobody has his back.
Where it gets ridiculous is when Wilder thinks it’s his job to make offers and do deals,he’s a boxer for **** sake and one stuck in this fake social media thing that he so favours, why has he been allowed to make a complete tit out of himself and his so called team is beyond me?

Isn't that what he's already done though? I don't get what Team Wilder wanted when they said, "Accept the deal." What are the conditions to fulfil and what are the penalties for later reneging? And if there are no penalties, what's stopping Wilder's team from then presenting a completely ludicrous set of terms that's obviously unworkable, forcing Hearn to pull out of the negotiations and look like a backslider? Assurances need to work both ways.

Don't you think Wilder's team were being highly unreasonable in the circumstances?

And the entire world knows Baby Miller is next for AJ. Or Povetkin if its forced.

Go look at what DiBella put out there ... $50M for Wilder vs. AJ ... BY THE END OF THE YEAR. I think both sides (and all of us) expect each guy to defend in the summer and then hopefully unify by end of year if terms can be worked out.

this is exactly how not to conduct yourself in big fight talks, i mean u have 24hrs to agree and u can pass to the next stage, just put the ****ing offer on the table so people can evaluate it like adults, idiots, this is important stuff, not childish antics, this isn't a game show

Right. So what exactly were they supposed to accept here?

Wasn't AJ's "let's roll" comment enough in those circumstances?

Let’s roll isn’t saying, “Yes, I will fight you for $50M, I accept.” It could mean ‘let’s roll on to someone else.”

All Hearn and AJ need to do is say, “For $50M, we accept.”

Then you sit own and hammer out the details.

What Eddie said was “We’re interested in the fight ...” which is not the same as “We’ll take it at that price.”

Do you not recall, what, less than a month ago when Wilder said, “Name the percentage and I’ll take it as long as the rematch is reversed If I win the first fight — 80/20, 70/30 whatever.”

Did Hearn immediately send a contract? Did he say, “OK, let’s sit down now”? No, he didn’t.

Two things I recall, and correct me if I’m wrong:

    1) Eddie put $12M out there and said “Make a counter-offer.” Wilder’s side has countered and quite considerably.

    2) Wasn’t AJ the one who said $50M and set that number? Well, they met that demand.

Ball is in Hearn/AJ’s court. Just say YES, we will fight for $50M.
