Truly sad. Hearns was a tremendous fighter and always came across a wonderful guy. Win or lose he made for terrific fights. I probably saw it here but there was something about him having problems previously: This content is protected
It's just a damn shame - there are people out there who spend time and effort just stealing good money from folks who just don't know better and trust too much. Tommy was a great fighter, but probably not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He should have had good people around him to watch for hustlers and swindlers (Ali suffered from the same thing) but apparently didn't. Worse when it's family. who should have your back no matter what. You like to think there will be a reckoning someday for thieves like this, but it doesn't do Tommy any good.
Hopefully this will ensure that his needs are met. That's all that's important at this point in time.
It's sad, but at least it sounds like his son Ronald is looking out for him Personally I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of a senile Hitman Hearns, I'm pretty sure he could still detonate that right on a chin leaving most people out cold.
Dang. I saw this in the news and came here. Very sad for Tommy, my favorite Fab4, always on his corner.
Sounds pretty messed up. He might be my favorite fighter. When money is involved family can be the worst. Pugguy and i had a good chat about that sort of stuff not so long ago and I've seen some pretty ordinary behavior when people pass away. Hopefully the situation is sorted and gets better.
Very sad indeed. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I believe reading one time that Tommy used to always visit Benitez after he was in the unfortunate state that he is, and he always showed him respect. It's sad that many legends deal with these kind of things. Hopefully things get better for the Hitman, my favorite fighter.
Yehh and I love that he actually wanted to give Shuler's family the belt he won from Shuler, and even said the belt belongs to him.
When when did he start getting dementia?Because he looked fine about fifteen years ago.And he hadn't boxed since then.Is it something which the damage is already done? So they can look fine after their careers over and still get dementia from the blows???
