Wouldn't know Didn't buy either Its irrelevant, it's like saying would you like a kick in the nuts or a a fist up the bum Neither are appealing (actually maybe that's your thing) chill out ffs
He’s panicking like mad these days. Garcia is already with another promotional company who’s fights are shown on DAZN but Hearn is trying to put on the fight when he doesn’t represent any of them.
Hearn is trying to set Top Rank in the US against Matchroom's shows across multiple territories - as if they were remotely comparable. Matchroom might use bigger venues, compared to Bob's supposed "small halls" but that ignores TV money, ticket/PPV pricing and many other variables. Showing a crap fight in a big venue full of cheap tickets isn't anything to boast about.
Yes, it's incredible, but nothing surprises me anymore. Hearn seems desperate and he makes more mistakes today than a few years ago. Incidentally, ESPN is a far better platform than DAZN. It can hardly be compared.
My advice to hearn is to give the game up. All these guys blocking him off we,re the guys killing the sport long before eddie hearn turned up. Its actually pretty funny the morons rooting for warren etc and getting fed last nights card as a reward. Eddie pays his fighters. Eddie consistantly put on good fights/cards. Eddie got the sport moving. We had to pay for it granted but the reality is consistantly good fights are not happening without it. At one point about everyweek had a good fight on. The fans had unbelievable access to fights/fighters etc. Eddie got the casuals involved.... promoted boxing better than anyone. He did make stars of pretty average fighters but in honesty thats what the sport was needing to move forward. This is what happens next. We revert to how boxing was before hearn came along. Boxing promoted badly. Good fights become infrequent. Promoters just build some fighters....and send them out every six months in a big fight the rest of the guys just fight nobodies till they get a money shot. Boxing goes back to being a niche sport again. Back to just the hardcores waiting months inbetween good fights. I think eddie at one point put on great value shows....but he did get greedy and he did start handing out too much money to guys undeservingly. I think he should get stick for that. His cards we,re very good value at one point tho. I think he should have been held to account for his undercards going downhill. The morons calling for hearns head are playing right into the hands of warren/arum etc. That only ends one way as frank is already showing you. Even worse undercards. Even worse main events. Lets be honest furys never been exciting inside the ring. Hes a great fighter granted...but without an exciting dance partner hes actually pretty dull to watch. Hes relying on outside antics more and more to keep people interested. Tbh i,d love to see hearn leave the sport and wait for the penny to drop. Cause it wouldnt be long before we start seeing i miss the eddie hearn days posts going up as frank puts on another one of his dodgy shows where a fighter may or may not be paid for.
Well put. This group of Fury die hards are absolutely brain dead. What Frank and Tyson did at the weekend is the biggest mickey take I've ever seen on these shores as a boxing fan. Tyson has taken you all for a ride. And it was Eddie that made the big fights at Wembley before he had Josh and when Frank was at his lowest. Frank is hoping on the bandwagon and not bringing nothing new to the table. Frank has great longevity but lacks originality and creativity.
I am not sure what time period the contract that Hearn has with DAZN but I have my doubts whether it will continue . Yes he has put himself all over the place promoting shows but I don’t see a lot of added value and nothing that would tempt me to shell out for a subscription. He seems to get outbid on multiple occasions and his UK stable is wilting. I think someone in Sky is definitely trying to teach him a lesson proving that any body can promote on their platform and be successful! As mentioned by multiple posters he has alienated the other promoters who appear to have ganged up on him! He is definitely desperate when he tries to convince people that Top Rank are finished! He would long to have their current stable !
I'm not a Hearn basher in this thread but let's be honest, stadium fights are nothing new. Joshua and Hearn made them a regular thing and credit to them fro that - but something like Froch-Groves was seen as a fairly risky outlier at the time. Let's face it, old Frank used Wembley, Upton Park, Hampden, Cardiff; Maloney had a least a couple of stadium gigs too. Credit to Hearn for filling the places routinely at high prices though.
