Hearns vs Toney

I remember HBO conducted a poll after the Toney - Mc callum I fight.The vast majority of experts thought Toney won.It is beyond me how anbody can give this fight to Mc Callum,particularly in light how Toney closed the fight

 

Tommy would box him & win a decision. I base this off the fact that Nunn, Jones & Mccallum gave Toney trouble.
I like Toney though.

Toney on his very best day, coming forward, could be a f*cking nightmare.

But Tommy had MANY "best days" compared to James.

 

You like your sparring sessions, here's another one -

Milton McCrory was knocked flat on his arse while sparring for his bout vs Colin Jones by the still amateur Mark Breland.

McCrory threw a lazy jab and Breland dropped him with a right hand counter. McCrory did not see the punch and had to be shown the video tape of it.

It was a topic no-one wanted to talk about inside Kronk for some time before it became an in house joke.

 

Wow! Great story. Any more like that?

I do indeed love a sparring story. Ha!
