On the Berto-Collazo undercard. He won the 2008 National Golden Gloves @ Super Heavyweight. Here's an article on him: http://www.villagevoice.com/2008-11-26/ ... tor-hamer/ He's definitely someone to watch IMO. A very interesting fella indeed. He's got a few fights and interviews on YouTube. Check 'em out.
I've seen him fight. I don't know what people make a big thing about him. So, he won the amateurs, so what? He is a KO waiting to happen.:scaredas:
he's raw but there's nothing wrong talking about a prospect. It's not like he's hyping a padded record or anything. Lets see how or if he develops.
Are you kidding? He's polished as hell for a guy two fights into his pro career, and probably the best American heavyweight prospect out there right now. He was the national golden gloves champion and was signed by Lou DiBella to a big contract as an amateur, so it's not like he's a nobody, and he has an interesting back story.
Why do you believe he's a KO waiting to happen? Did he have chin issues in the amateurs? His defense is pretty solid for a fighter as early in his career as he is, even if he doesn't have a tight guard.
Also re: HW prospects, Tyson Fury makes his second pro fight tomorrow. Reportedly it's against Marcel Zeller (21-3 with 20 KOs), though I'm skeptical that that's who he'll actually face.
Somebody that gets it. Thank you. I do question just how serious he is in regard to making a career out of it. He seems to have other business interests and wants to continue his education--nothing wrong with that but it's hard to be a dedicated professional boxer and concentrate on other major endeavors I would guess. I'm sure it'll depend on how much success he has early on as to whether or not he pursues it.
I fail to see what's the big deal about the guy trying to get a prospects name out there. All you guys giving him **** for throwing a name out there need to back off and take your lives a tad less seriously. I've heard a lot of talk about this prospect along with Boo Boo Andrade and Tyson Fury. Nice to at least have SOME prospects out there in the HW division. Is he on the televised undercard? What IS the televised undercard for this fight anyways?
