Berbick beat Bey and Tate tho he may have been on the outer edge of being ranked and Bey may or may not have been faster.
This is the one that I was thinking of when I started the thread. So who thinks Louis was faster than Marciano when they fought?
Top two are in. Baker wasn't ranked against Moore I don't think; Marciano slower than Cockell? I'd like another look before I add that one. The weight difference between Marciano and Savold is to small. I don't think Whyte was faster than Povetkin in either foot or handspeed. Povetkin was certainly not slower than Price.
Wasn’t Savold 205? I have to check. Whyte was def faster then Povetkin. I also believe Baker was ranked. Just checked Savold was 200 to Marcianos 186
Marciano vs all his title defence opponents. Moore weighed exactly the same as Rocky, so that's maybe not a good one. Leon Spinks vs M. Ali.
I just looked up Rings annual ratings 1954. Unless I’m reading it wrong he’s listed at number four for the 1954 annual ratings and number 2 in 55
You’re the third one to call me out on that. Will have to rewatch the fight till then I suppose I’m wrong if I’m being corrected this much. Don’t remember price being slow or anything but could be wrong
Yeah, the way those are displayed isn't helpful. You need to click on the 1954 year dedicated to the heavyweights. Then you will see the 1953 February rankings. Rocky Marciano, Champion Nino Valdes Ezzard Charles Dan Bucceroni Roland LaStarza Earl Walls Don Cockell Clarence Henry Tommy Harrison Bob Satterfield Coley Wallace Makes sense really. Satterfield had just nearly killed him and Herny just dominated him.
