    So what ?
All you've said is that he's not better, than I'm wrong. That's all.
    You haven't explained why.

Nowhere does that article explain why Duran is greater infighter than Armstrong. You just say he is the best. Like me saying Armstrong is. Which is fine.
I think Armstrong did it all on the inside. As good or better than anyone else.

I disagree with some key points of that.
Most importantly, Armstrong didn't have wide, looping shots at close range, he threaded in short punches constantly. He'd be right on top of his opponent and landing those short ones. He needed less space than anyone. It's there on film.

My reasoning as to why I think that was in the article. Where I detail what he did on the inside.

Anyway, the two of them are both ATG infighters. Armstrong smothered and pushed more, using his strength and conditioning to bully his opponents, whereas Cholo cut angles off with his feet and positioned himself better, using his smarts to augment his own strength with advances grappling tactics and an uncanny feel of when to push and pull. So I guess it depends what you like? I definitely prefer how Duran does it, it's more effective imo.

Difference is that Durán is definitely quicker, hits harder, harder to hit, has a gas tank as good as Armstrong's and on top of this is clearly the most adaptable. He can fight on the back-foot, from the outside, as a counter puncher better than Armstrong ever showed he could.

He sometimes* threw short shots. A lot of the time he winged his body shots, and didn't arc his punches, just pushed them, when he went upstairs. He does that vs Duran and he's getting punished for it.

I'm assuming lightweight? Armstrong didn't really weigh above 140 in his prime. Even as Welterweight Champ.

Still taking Duran. He was so damn strong at 135 and punched like a mule kicks at that weight. Those two attributes, along with his innate quickness and astronomical boxing IQ, would derail Armstrong's attack sufficient to win a decision.

    Duran..Better at everything IMO
Armstrong stated he used to watch an opponents feet to stay on top of them. Not a smart idea against Duran. Not smart at all.

I think that Armstrong was a bit underrated in this thread. Not saying that he should be taken as a favorite here, but most people call it like Henry wouldn't have any chance.

Also, there is no way that Duran would stop him at LW. He was a tank, nobody would stop him at that weight.

Why doesn't this thread have more replies? Do people really prefer talking about Tyson, Rocky and Ali all the time?
