Freddie Roach is somebody that I have a lot of respect for (as a trainer, not fighter) but I've become increasingly annoyed with his media antics and bizarrre comments. I just think Freddie is more bark than bite and he should thank his lucky stars everyday that Manny doesn't fight Floyd. Anyway, Amir Khan is a very skilled fighter and has gotten better with Freddie. But the fact remains that Amir has yet to really be tested(Khan according to Froch). Breideis Prescott isn't exactly a world beater and he put Amir on the canvas. And than Paulie(hands of charman)Malignaggi wasn't exactly the most dangerous of opponents but was still quite formidable for Amir although Paulie was dominated. Amir is really going to have to step up and show some mental and physical toughness that we have yet to see. Maidana has great hands and pop in both. Marcos also has a lot of ring savvy and has good defensive skill. I just can't see Amir even getting a decision here. If Amir is going to win this fight it's going to have to be by TKO. However, I just can't picture this going the distance. And, I would be shocked If Maidana didn't TKO Amir in 10 rounds.
All 2D Maidana has is a punchers chance at best, Khan will be too fast, and in and out with Maidana. Khan is going to make him look like a lost school kid in a shopping centre looking for his mama. If Maidana tries to go for Khan early it could be over in a few rounds because Maidana will be more open to counter then your local hooker. :yep Khan will KO him Salita style. Khan wont let Maidana land them looping hooks which you see coming all day, Khan will be too smart.
