I was setting around watching my daily dose of ESPNews and they spoke about Pavlik calling out the fight with Williams because of the hand issue, then one of the guys said, I wonder if it has anything to do with people questioning if Taylor can fight on the the super six.

Then I got to thinking, that would make alot of sense, you would think that Pavlik could have held off another week maybe even two before calling of the fight with williams.

I just wonder if there is something working to put Pavlik in as a replacement for Taylor.:huh

    Hmm, interesting.

    that is very possible

It may happen that Pavlik takes Taylors place in a month or so.

Credit for bringing this up. How do you think Pavlik would fare in the tournament?

I think that he would do well, I think that he can beat everyone except Ward and kessler.

He's an HBO fighter. Not happening.

Don't look to ESPN readers for boxing insight.

Chad Dawson had said somthing to the effect of "I can make 168lbs", and I thought that he would be a good candidate to replace Taylor. However HBO has invested alot of money on Dawson so that is unlikley.

No way. Pavlik doesn't want into the tournament for starters; he's an HBO fighter. Secondly, he wants to stay at 160 until he's exhausted his potential. Moving up before it's natural is just putting himself at a disadvantage. Thirdly, have you seen his hand? It's still not closing. He has a legitimate injury, and needs time to recover.

    good point

no conspiracy on this one IMO

Pavlik really is injured and doesn't want to make the mistake of fighting less than 100% again, even though he has to take **** for it and lose time and money

Williams will be likely be a KO win and a dominant performance from Pavlik against a guy considered to be very high level who just beat Winky.

Plus Pav will get a nice payday.

Believe me Team Pav wants this fight....they just want to be able to fight with both hands.

On the other hand, I can't blame Williams for bailing out at this point he has a right to

No. Just no. DiBella has his own replacement in Allan Green, why would he let Arum take his place and income? IMO Taylor will continue, I'm about 70% sure. Looking back, he was doing well and was caught, bad KO, but happens, he didn't get a serious beating or looked shot/dead tired, was just caught, end of story.

Pavlik has real troubles with his hand and lets just hope it's not career-ending. Also, he said "I never wanted to join Super Six, let them ruin their career for peanuts", and that doesn't sound like he wants to join, does it? On the other hand though, now that R1 (Abraham) is over, he might not find Taylor's shoes so goddamn dangerous.

I think it is what it looks like with Kelly. No way will the other promoters let an Arum fighter in. Hell, Goosen has found a way to try and get one more of his guys in. I hate Goosen, but he is clever.

Hmmm... I hope your right on this. I was just thinking the other day how much more interesting this tourny would have been if Pavlik was invited instead of Taylor...
