It is used in common discussion though to attack someone in an unfair manner, which is the context I’m using it for. & it is an unfair criticism.

He didn't fight Langford, Jeanette, McVey, or Tate. Langford and Jeanette were not big heavyweights either. The idea he ducked Godfrey and Wills due to size seems totally unfounded.

He ducked black fighters. How is reiterating that slanderous?

If it’s used against him at a time when such behaviour was totally the norm, yeah, it’s misleading & unfair.

If a hundred years from now society became openly racist, are you cool with people judging you negatively for following the mainstream narrative of your own time?

& he didn’t, “duck,” anyone. Show me the Black fighter he should have fought on merit, & didn’t. You don’t fight Harry freaking Greb five times if you’re afraid of anyone.

People forget Tunneys HW title fights were determined by tournaments organized by Tex Richard which Wills lost in.

Dempsey is responsible for the whole Wills thing. Tunney is not.

Tunney ducked wills and Godfrey for years prior to that tournament
