Was just reading evander's bookand he said that tyson wanted him to take a drug test to see if he wass using steriods. Anyone else know of this?
Are you referring to "The Holyfield Way?" That book is garbage. He probably did ask for Tyson to take a drug test, but Holyfield was a massive cheater himself. But of course, they disregard all of his holding and headbutting in that book. That same book also says that Holyfield won the first fight with Lennox Lewis. Idiots.
Tyson wanted Holyfield to take a steroid test? Interesting, there's a lot of speculation that Tyson himself starting using PEDs when he got out of prison, cheque drops and all. Of course, most of the time you'll get away with PED use as long as you're not sloppy. I think Holyfield's health problems in the Moorer and Bowe fights were because of HGH-itis and wouldn't be surprised if Tyson started juicing after prison.
Holyfield definately juiced. He even got caught buying them a few years ago. All you have to do is look at his gain of nearly 40 pounds of solid ripped muscle, his rapid balding, and supposed heart problems, that combined with the fact that Lee Haney was training him and it doesnt take a genius to jump to the obvious conclusion that EH was a user. I dont believe Tyson used them. He, didnt need to. He always looked the way he looked even when he was in his teens. Besides his performances went drastically down hill after prison just like you would expect them to.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if Tyson was on roids post prison. He looked huge, especially around the Lennox Lewis fight and even against McBride and Williams and it wasn't really a natural build. Pre prison though I doubt it.
Very nice call on the cheque drops, which seemingly a half dozen people in the world are aware of. And people wonder why he bit Holyfield's ear when he started having his face destroyed with headbutts?
I've heard Tyson needed to lift weights when he came out of prison because he was underweight when he was released? There were rumours that Mike weighed around 190-200lbs when he was released?
Yeah there's footage of him doing leg presses and squats later on in his career. You can tell he lifted more post prison just in his build, he got more bulky.
Holyfield alleged steroid list was reported by a news outlet trying to sell stories during the great baseball steroid scandals. There has been nothing about it from any reputable source, only one person's (who had a lot to gain) word against another. I find it difficult to not believe someone with the character of Evander Holyfield. As for Holy being a "cheater", that's ridiculous. Holyfield keeps his head down in position like all fighters are taught.
the real mike tyson ended in 1988 if anyone wants to know on this forum. anything after that date was a inferior fighter who was not great but good to normal standards. there's only a few ATG's that could beat that 88 version - ali and foreman are at the top of the list.
CORRECT:yep but don't expect the usual wank bags 2 understand what we're on about, I met evander at the fashion mall back in 96 a week before the fight & i was :shock::shock: this was NOT the same feller i'd met 6 years previous, the ****in TRAPS on him, nuff said:smoke
Oh lord here we go. Holyfield and his ****ing character. You knew you were going to get called on his cheating so you had to defend it before anyone even mentioned it. Holyfield is one of the dirtiest fighters of the last twenty years between his headbutts, elbows, low blows, etc. Oh yeah, hes got a lot of character between his pontificating on religion while cheating on his multiple wives and girlfriends, taking steroids, and "neglecting" to pay taxes while living in a friggin palace!!! Sure, hes as pure as the driven snow. If you want to live in a fantasy world and believe Holyfield was not juicing then feel free but if any fighter in boxing was juicing its Holyfield. The man is the prime example of it. Not Jones (who was caught red handed), or Vargas (ditto), or anyone else. Look at Evander, the massive lean weight gains, heart troubles, trainers, hair loss, up and down performances attributal to cycling on and off, etc etc. There isnt a shadow of a doubt in my mind that the man was on roids. As for Tyson, especially later in his career, I dont see roids as being at all a factor, Tyson was just getting fat and not training. He was weighing in the 240s late in his career, was not nearly as lean as he had been in his prime, and physically didnt look nearly as impressive. These are supposed to be PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS and there was nothing enhanced about Tyson's physique or performances later in his career.
