the third? uh? that evander lost the third fight just like i said , you said that it is not possible that he changes his style in the rematch and win it and then he loses the third fight
Eermmmm the second time there are no sorprise.and the rival has a new plan. In the case of evan his problems of heart were very relevant too
However looking at the thread, I think Holyfield has a great chance. Holmes has the better jab but he's going to need it as Evander's right is much the straighter of the two. Body attacks were Holy's achilles heel and Larry was not much of a body puncher. He also had an average left hook so advantage Evander there. Mind you, when your jab's that good, why use your left to hook? Chins are on a par. Both had bucketloads of heart. Stamina is about even if we're going with the 210lb version of Evander in his late 20s. Uppercut, I'd say Larry. Short chopping hooks and general inside dirtiness is Evander's territory. Both bring different tools. Evander was tried and tested by better fighters. And some fairly unremarkable opponents gave Larry a lot of trouble. If he gives Evander the chances he gave Snipes, Williams,Weaver then it's Holyfield's night. But the Larry of the Norton fight, without the injury, probably has enough to edge the decision. In three fights, who knows? But I wouldn't expect either to come out of it unbeaten.
holmes easily holyfield had trouble with techisions and larry holmes is probaly the best or 2nd best technition ever in the heavys :deal
Holmes had trouble with a 34 year old Norton, Weaver, Snipes, Williams, a green Witherspoon and Spinks. Do you not think Holyfield could perform better than any of those guys? I'm not sure I'd rate Larry quite that highly as a technician either. His right hand was often thrown as a swipe round the side rather than straight down the pipe (Evander would slip inside that and drop the nut all night long!), he didn't have much of a hook and his body attack was not the best. Jabbing and circling, only Ali is better; but for the other fundamentals I'd argue that the likes of Louis, Liston, Bowe and Lewis are a match for him.
Some great insight there. I have no idea why Larry was so eager to wing that wide right hand all the time. I don't remember who against right now fight but i recently watched him throw the most beautiful right hand, fast, straight and compact as you'd like for a great looked KD. It was a fantastic punch and eons better than what all but became his stock right hand.
Larry by decision 10-5, or 11-4. Holyfield couldn't deal with prime Holmes, he had problems with faded Dokes.
Holyfield for me. He would try and slug with Holyfield as he often did when people fired combos at him. He's not winning that type of fight against evander.
