True, but either way I'm not that interested in the fight...Hopkins and then Jones is the way to go IMHO.
with all due respect Dunky, your talking out of your arse Woods had just had his best win over a much hyped Yank (Hoye) and after finally getting some credit, the shitty BBC steals his thunder by getting JC on the phone, lets say (for example) you had just won your world title at your fourth attempt, would you be happy if they got your rival on the phone to speak to you? he was clearly pissed that the BBC had the nerve to do such a cheap thing Poor Clinton gets no respect :-(
He's paid his dues but Calzaghe has got bigger fish to fry with what little time he's got left in the game.
I hear you my good man, & I agree it was shitty what the BBC did, they caught poor Clinton totally of guard. However, its boxing & everybody loves a bit of trash talking, & it would have done Woods no harm to indulge in a bit of verbals with Joe! I dont think anything nasty would have came of it. However, Woods over the top reaction told me right away that Woods vs Calzaghe will never happen. Witter & Hatton as we know will never happen, but even those two have indulged in a bit of verbals from time to time in the past, & its **** like that that keeps the boxing fans happy. It may have been a cheap trick the BBC pulled on Woods, but Woods didnt half bottle it! Im sorry Nemesis, but he did!
Thing is Gaz, we all know Calzaghe talks loud about america & fighting americans in america, but his record shows when it comes to the crunch its Wales, manchester or nothing for the big fights. & as Hopkins & co wont travel to these shores to fight, I think Calzaghe v Woods would be a more realistic fight & another massive fight, which would attract a massive crowd wherever it was held in Wales or England. I would love to see this fight more than Calzaghe taking on an ancient Hopkins. Calzaghe v woods IMO would be another defining fight for Calzaghe, as Woods has matured into a worthy champion & tough fighter to beat in his relative(boxing) old age. Woods would need to find a set of balls first, thats the min stumbling block I fear.
why not King Kong next? Or Medusa...supernatural Joe could repel that stone stare and knock her out. Joe is the chosen one after all :barf what about Froch? there would be lingering doubts if Calzaghe didn't fight him
I'd certainly prefer Woods over Hopkins. A fight against Bernard will produce a clinch-fest and lots of dirty tactics, but not many clean exchanges. Joe would win a wide, ugly decision and risk getting cut or injured somewhere in the process. Dawson is the best fight he can take for a challenge, but Chad doesn't have the clout to force that sort of battle. But a bout against Woods would give Joe a shot to gain a belt against a credible opponent, if not anyone great.
