I hope they don't do this. I doubt they can come up with enough money to satisfy Hopkins, anyway. HBO took a bath on the first one, and Ken Herschman was the guy who let Dawson go from Showtime in the first place.

He's not going to throw good money on top of bad. I'd rather see Dawson/Pascal II. Much better fight.

Hey moron both fighters went back and fourth about wanting a rematch. If the WBC didn't order rematch, Hopkins wouldn't be fighting Dawson. As a matter fact he had plans to fight WBA champion Beibut Shumenov in March. All you're doing is making Hopkins look like a hypocrite.

And Dawson wanted a rematch once the decision was overturned.

Good fight only if your a fan of either.

The 1st fight sold terribly and Dawson can't attract flies.

Justice! Hopkins was trying to steal the belt with his exaggerated fake injury. So no matter what for the title to be fought for again is fair. Call it a borefest - if it is its down to hopkins - he's the one that stinks the place out and does all the acting/spoiling.

If Hopkins can fight to a fair conclusion (as I expect it will go this time around) then fair enough - no doubting Hopkins is a great. But IMO he's well faded and is trying to steal this title - fight for it properly and fairly and if you win it then great - you REALLY are the champ but to run away and get ur own way and keep the title would leave you as a fraud in many of the fans eyes.

It might not be a fight filled with fireworks, but it has to happen anyway. I want to know who will win in a fair fight.

Winner gets back into the top ten P4P lists for me.

Dawson and Gary Shaw wanted absolutely no part of Hopkins when they thought they had 'won' and Gary Shaw went on record as saying they'd rather give up the belts then fight Hopkins again this is documented FACT but as soon as the result is over turned both are saying they want a rematch :patsch

Please link me to where Hopkins said he's planning on fighting Shumenov? I saw him mention Bute and that's about it, I also saw him say he wouldn't give Dawson a rematch because 'he doesn't deserve it' which is true because we all saw how Dawson bottled the biggest opportunity of his life in their last fight but despite this when the WBC said the rematch had to happen Hopkins said he's willing to go again if that's what it takes to keep his belts.

Dawson needs Hopkins, Hopkins does not need Dawson. Hopkins is the recognised champion and future ATG whilst Dawson is that guy who lost to Pascal and went life and death with a close to 40 year old Glen Johnson.

Did you read the part where I said both fighters went back and fourth about their decisions? When the ruling was overturned Dawson wanted to fight Hopkins to regain the belts, but Hopkins didn't, that's a fact. It was reported on bscene.

Please stop being a dumb nuthugger, Dawson deserves a rematch because the fight is unsettled, the only reason why Hopkins is willing to fight Dawson again is because the WBC ordered it. If Hopkins denied Dawson a rematch, (despite WBC orders) it would make him look like a coward and a ducker.

Fact is post fight Hopkins said he wanted a rematch even when he knew that the fight would most likely be ruled a NC while Dawson and Shaw thought they had stolen the W so wanted no part of Hopkins and were planning a rematch instead with Jean Pascal, this shows that from the start only one fighter was interested in seeing a fair 12 round fight while the other was content with illegal MMA tactics.

Says the guy with the Chad Dawson avatar :lol::patsch

Why does he deserve a rematch? he did deserve his first fight with Hopkins being that he allowed a rematch between Hopkins and Pascal and waited it out for the winner but he got his chance and he ****ed it up plain and simple, he got frustrated after only 2 rounds and lost his cool and his post fight erratic reactions proves this as we first see him run to the ropes throwing his arms up in celebration then later he's looking all upset calling Hopkins a ***** etc. (this was just before he said there's no way he wants to rematch Hopkins )
