Golden Boy made Calzaghe a large offer so it's obviously Calzaghe doing the ducking. Why can't all his fans see that?

This fight makes no sense? So it must be a negotiating scheme by Frank Warren! Calzaghe has likely two fights left in his carreer (Ending in 2008). There is really only 3 fighters in the world today who brings anything to Calzaghes legacy. Bernard Hopkins (American Legend), Kelly Pavlik (The new american boxing star), and Chad Dawson (American LHW champion). Calzaghe is known in the states as a Eurobased fighter, so in order to cement his legacy, he needs to make these 2 fights happen in america. Most likely scenario would be retirering Hopkins and then take on Kelly Pavlik.
Thats wierd how Jones dominated him 5 years ago and now Woods would be a fav to beat him, possibly even knock him out.
I always knew Hopkins was ducking Calzaghe, that's why he don't want to fight in the U.K. He knows if gets Calzaghe here in the U.S. it won't fill up the seats. Hopkins is always full of bull s**, and he strikes again.
I knew Calzaghe and Warren would try to get Woods. First they call out Hopkins then Pavlik and now they get Woods. Calzaghe vs Woods is a fight I have no interest in, it would be another pointless "superfight". I will not watch that fight. Joe Calzaghe is never going to fight outside the UK.
Apparently the offer was $16M for THE REST OF HIS CAREER, not one fight. Basically, swap Warren for GBP. (Warren would get $2m, and a goodbye). This clears matters up quite a bit since I don't see any way that the fight would have generated the $34M neede to cover these amounts plus at least $16M for Bernard. It also indicates how much confidence GBP hads in a Bernard win. Obviously, they feel Bernard loses, otherwise Joe would no longer be marketable to that degree. They already have Bernard, but he's probably only a cash cow for one more fight (maybe two if they can find someone else he can beat at this stage) So Joe ducking? Do the math and do some thinking. The offer is not what it first seemed. At this point in his career, Joe would probably win every round against Bernard, and Bernard was the one who ducked Joe five years ago.

Did someone let Roy know ??Roy has publically stated over and over again that the Hopkins fight was a done deal after he baited him befoe the Winky fight ..If Joe and Hopkins don't meet don't be surprise to see Jones get the winner of a Woods Clinton match !
Its the same old promotional BULL**** that always happens in the sport and ESPECIALLY WITH FRANK WARREN INVOLVED:yep Look at how long the Kessler negoitiations took.(Though Mogan Palle was of equal or better blame in that particular instance). Hopkins has always been a tough negoitiator and it would have been the best payday of JC's career. GBP made a very fair offer to Calzaghe but Warren geting 2 mil just didnt fly. If Warren really believes in his fighter? He oughta take the offer and let Calzaghe win. If that happens? Calzaghe is then THE MEGA FIGHT moving from THE 168 Champ to THE 175 Champ. They could then call the shots and dictate the terms allowing Warren to perhaps set up a retirement show or next fight on Calzaghe's turf with MEGA PROFIT going Warrens way. Warren's trying to pull the same stunt that Palle tried to pull on him. The difference? Warren and Calzaghe have the opportunity to take another fight, for Palle it was all or nothin. Calzaghe vs Woods makes a great adjustment fight to 175 and if Hopkins beats Jones or whomever? The demands for this fight will increase. Yet, that makes more sense for JC than Hop''s who isnt getting any younger. As for all these threads?? Complete BS!! Hopkins hasnt said no, he tried to say YES!! Warren is strategizing to make it even more difficult. Hopkins trainer is telling him MOVE ON, dont play this game. He might be right, but it would be a big disappointment. This fight makes sense for sport, fighters, and fans. IMO, the balls in Warren court and he should take this risk. He's doing Calzaghe a disservice in legacy and career by possibly missing this opponent. The longer it goes the less valid a win will be:-(
