I know These days if you come to the ring with a gameplan you have worked out to negate and defeat the other guy, it is viewed as an unfair advantage!! You should let them hit you a lot before you win! This is BRILLIANT!
what ?!?!? how was joe a undersized opponent when he spent most of his career at 168 and was probably more confutable at the 175 pound weight limit then hopkins was, who spent his entire career at 160 .. Also since he and pavlic both started at 160 and fought at a catch weight of 170 making the playing field pretty much even considering Hopkins age.. No one was complaining about weight when Pavlic challenged Joe why say he's under sized now .. ?? Hopkins deserves all of the accolades that are being thrown at his feet. Robinsion tried his hand at light heavy and loss , marvin and Monzon never ever tried to fight anyone at light heavy and we all know for a fact that Michael Spinks challenged Marvin on more then one occasion and was told flat out No , not that I blame him Michael was a monster in those days at Lt Heavy. Grebb is the only other middle weight from the list of greats that beat a Lt Heavy , but the only thing that separates him from hopkins is that he had 303 fights and ranked 10 best Lt Heavy of all time which I still don't get since he really didn't continue to fight at Lt Heavy after beating Tunny . Hopkins has fought some of the world best contenders and best 4p4 fighters from 154 to 175 for over 15 years ,, you don't get much better then that.

He was still the underdog going in that one as well, I know it was close but in the end he was the underdog and an underdog isn't expected/supposed to win. Whoever denies what Hopkins did to Winky is an idiot.
Do you not see the difference here? Hopkins has admitted that is natural weight was 175lbs. Joe Calzaghe's natural weight is 168lbs. However, Manny Pacquiao's natural weight is 130lbs. Ricky Hatton's is 140lbs.
The bookies will always favour the popular fighter. If the fighter with a load of fans wins, it doesn't really matter because the bookmakers gave **** odds on him winning, because they know people will put money on him. If the unpopular fighter wins, they don't lose, because the amount of people who bet on him, pales in comparison to the amount of money that's gone on the popular fighter. The bookmakers are not giving you an indication of who they think will win. They're just covering themselves. Although they won't completely ignore the boxers form. They'll just adjust the odds to suit them. If Trinidad was on a 5 fight losing streak, Hopkins would have been favoured, obviously.

Respect But how can you call a guy over rated that has been in champion fights for the last 15 years against some of the best contender and p4p fighter in the world .. He been in championship before most of poster on EBS even knew how to spell boxing.
Theres always a ton of garbage after any fighter wins a fight, this one was been more justifiable than most knee jerk reactions are though, so it isn't quite as bad as usual.
