He's a bigger version of Sam Soliman. Calzaghe wasn't a lunging hooker.

My point exactly. Hopkins beat EVERYONE at MW for years, big small and in between, and he gets the RJJ treatment. Everyone he beat is a bum BECAUSE he beat them and made it look easy lol

Hopkins will fight either of them at a catchweight of 170 lbs. Then he will grab, headbutt, low blow, and flop around the ring feigning he has been hit behind the head.

But the Bhop of 10 years ago vs. Sergio Martinez would be interesting.

wow one decent win and people start 2 create a monster....... Go look at breidis prescott when he blitzd Amir Khan.... Where is he now? But people hyped him up after that fight. Martinez lands a fantastic shot on Williams which is a 1 in a a million shot and all of a sudden hes schooling a prime hopkins.... What a bunch of jokers.... Paul Williams will more dan likely destroy martinez in a rematch if he learns his defensive lessons..... and dont even talk about him beating floyd or even pac......

He would have absolutely took Williams out. Martinez is a little tricky. BHOP has yet to beat anyone speedy, besides the ghost of roy jones. I would bet with BHOP but wouldn't know how they would actually fight and mix with eachother.

    Roy.

What did Roy ever accomplish at the weight?

You have Chavez in your top 5 of all-time. Shows what you know.

Not talking about accomplishments, talking about H2H matchups. Nobody beats RJJ at MW or SMW.

    NOBODY.

Whoa, so Martinez loses to an ATG middleweight who also moved up to do things at light heavy. Stop the press.

    Hagler for one.

In terms of the overall package though - accomplishments, resumé, the whole lot - Roy is not a top 15 MW.

Hagler can't beat a welterweight coming off a three year layoff, and he splits with Vito Antefuermo. How the HELL is he going to deal with Roy ****ing Jones?

The whole thread idea is ******ed really. Obviously Hopkins would win.

It's funny just to see people say Martinez has a chance or even favour him.

Watch both of them against Pavlik. And remember that the Martinez one had his soul taken from him by Bernard.

goddamit... my POINT is that if he had been around when Hopkins was, he would have been a routine defense, and then everybody would be ragging on Hops for taking another 'weak' opponent. The POINT is that Hopkins doesn't get nearly enough love on ESB for whatever reason. Not that Martinez sucks, because he doesn't. It's just funny watching people go crazy talking about him fighting ATG fighters.

The guy said name a MW that is on the level of the 10 he mentioned that Hopkins fought, not Hopkins beat and I named one. Whats the problem.

Hagler is considered an ATG at the weight and his best wins are over Mugabi (JMW), Duran (LW) and Hearns (WW). Monzon best win over Nino (JMW). But Hopkins is criticised for beating up a few champions who came up.

Calzaghe didnt ***** slap Hopkins in round 1 (at least) so you saying Calzaghe slapped him for 12 rounds is clearly bull****.
