There's no comparison legacywise , Hopkins all day BABEEE!!!

A straight up matchup would be a bit more competitive, but again edge goes to Hopkins in a fight he pulls away late in the fight and outclasses GGG over the championship rounds

And as for defenses of a belt or two, I don't bother as much with the numbers as for the quality of opponents. And apart from Jacobs and Canelo, who both gave him very close fights no matter what one thinks of the decisions, his opposition was poor. Think Geale and Lemieux were the only other top 5 ranked opponents, and Cotto and Saunders showed that you don't need to be a great MW to defeat them easily.

Even though I don't think Hopkins beat any really good MWs either I'd have Tito, Holmes, Joppy, DLH, Echols and Allen as better in general. All these were ranked top 5 I think (even though many might feel that DLH didn't really deserve his nr 1 contender spot) and they also had a greater variety in terms of style. Both Hopkins and GGG peaked during weak eras, but Hopkins did a better job of cleaning out his. Not blaming GGG for this, but it is what differentiates their resumes.

Well who's Golovkin BEAT. Hopkins has Del a Hoya, Tito and Allen. Do you honestly see a 40 year old Golovkin moving up 2 weights and beating Beterbeiv, I don't even see him dropping him and GGGs a power puncher, Hopkins isn't. Also Hopkins has better Longevity at 160 and ultimately a better résumé there. Whilst his 3 best wins imo come at 175

How did Hopkins do vs Roy Jones? He lost big. Vs Toney? Toney won that one cleanly.

    And this guy?

Yeah, yeah, debut doesn't count. So, how about this guy:

Hopkins had heavy weather in overcoming 26-14 Baptist. You really think a guy like that would go 12 with GGG?

Oscar was a blown up light weight. Tito a blown up welter and Hopkins was dirty in that fight. Let’s not give too much credit here.

Allen was decent, but no better than Jacobs.

GGG was avoided for years. Could you see Pacquaio or Mayweather in the ring with GGG? Not a chance they knew better!

Still all better wins than GGGs

Mayweather and Pacquiao both cherry picked to a certain degree, hence why neither really tried to make the big fight between them

^ Dino sucking information out his back porch with a rubber hose.

He's got no clue of the age of Golovkin's amateur opponents.

    Here's some of them:

Is this an actual analysis or just an infantile tirade against a fighter you don’t like...either way I hope you can do better than this on your future posts.

That didn't stop GG from calling him out , even when he was 42 years old!!

    https://www.boxingnews24.com/2015/06/golovkin-interested-in-facing-de-la-hoya-fight-would-be-at-154/

A sign of how bad GGs era was and a mark of how low he'd stoop to get easy fights. During that period he was calling out everybody from the lower weights but never had the courage to fight anybody from the weight classes above him.

And when prime guys from 154 agreed like Canelo , he outright refused to go down to 154. Only for fossils like Hoya and tiny guys on their way out like Mayweather and Pacman.

Duck job GG would never have fought a guy like Hopkins. The guy won't even fight BooBoo Andrande for a world title ffs. :risas3:

    Dino,

Enjoy your holiday. You might find a few Easter eggs for clues. It’s a media movie reference “ Easter eggs “

    He never faced Toney.

And, yes, a still developing Hopkins lost clearly to Jones, but still gave him a better fight than anyone until Griffin at LHW. But I fail to see what that has to do with him being past his prime for Taylor.

I love the way you denigrate every fighter you don’t like without holding your beloved heroes to a similar standard.

I like GGG and think he is great so I won’t resort to your less than stellar tactics.

Tito was the favorite against B Hop and most were picking Tito...interesting that now in continent hindsight it can be dismissed casually as a blown up WW. DLH blown up lightweight...and I thought you might be generous and call him a blown up WW lol.

Just TBF would it be equal to saying that B Hops biggest fight was a decisive victotrt against a blown up WW and GGG’s biggest fights were a draw and a loss to a blown up WW. I know you like this things only in a favorable light to your heroes but it is really a rather lame attempt
