bhop beat pascal and cloud. both are big punchers and much more athletic than kovalev. bhop will beat him with very basic fundamentals. he won't have a chance to land that big shot. if bhop says it will be easier than his win over pavlik....i have to agree. power means nothing if you're unable to land. bhop will keep him turning and won't let him set.

I'd like to see Hopkins fight Kovalev. A lifetime of headbutts, spoiling, rabbit punches elbows deserves retribution.

Taylor, Calzaghe and Dawson all beat him. I think Kovalev beats the current version of Hopkins.

    No.

Taylor, Calzaghe and Dawson all won the beauty contest. They didn't beat Hopkins. Big difference.

In his prime I'd be happy to put all my money on Hopkins against the Kovalev I've seen so far but Hopkins' prime was a long time ago now...

:rofl Cloud was slow as a wet week and Pascal had major stamina issues.

Kolalev is a better puncher than both of them.

Hopkins keeps proving me wrong but I just can't see him beating Kovalev. A 49yr old, however good, beating one of the hardest hitters in boxing right now (and a well-skilled hitter at that) is hard to fathom. Also, I think Murat and Cloud weren't really world class opposition so while those wins were great for Hopkins, Kovalev would be a big step up and Hopkins will be that much older. Only way Hopkins might have a chance is if Kovalev was stupid enough to fall in love with his power, look for one big KO punch have a really low output. But certainly I would favour Kovalev over anyone at 175 right now.

How do you know Kovalev punches harder than Pascal and Cloud???:think

If Cloud is slow then Kovalev is cold syrup.

He is a better puncher. Better technique. Better timing. And is power can't be questioned.

    Pascal and Cloud are ****.

I will be shocked if Hopkins and Kovalev actually fight. I really don't think Hopkins or his team really want it.

I'm glad there are some Hopkins fans who think he can win when Hopkins himself knows he can't.

Hopkins would go in for a "crafty" headbutt and take a left hook to the jaw and proceed to get knocked. The people picking Hopkins here are probably the same delusional idiots who picked him vs. Dawson.

Same argument is always made with GGG, but sometimes the eye test suffices.

He did destroy Cleverly who, although protected, had shown a decent chin up until then and who also beat Bellew and Murat in 2010.

I don't like this myth that just because a fighter hasn't beaten a world class opponent, doesn't mean he isn't able to.

Murat took Hop the distance who was stopped by Cleverly , who was demolished by Krusher.

    Who has Hop beaten?

I fancy Kovalev to blow through all Hops opponents including Dawson, Taylor and Calzaghe.

Hop was a great middleweight but i wasn't a fan of his LHW run. His best win was Tarver and he had just dropped massive weight after beating Balboa.
