He just wants to fight and he isnt shot and he isnt taking damage i would love him to get another few big fights in against top contenders for big money. I think the Jones thing was a personal demon more than anything. He isnt avoiding Dawson he just wants the big fights AND big money who can blame him he was screwed around by promoters all his career. So he will wait a year if he has to for that big fight to emerge whether that be Dawson becoming a big star or somebody else emerging as a top class fighter who is a draw and will add to his legacy
I think Hopkins should avoid slick fighters period. He'd be better off facing Miranda or Froch type of fighter than a Bute or Dawson type. Slick fighters will always make you look your age. If he wants to keep fighting stick to fighting punchers with limited skills.
im not sold on bute at all. he hasnt fought anyone big and hasnt had a big fight out of montreal. hopkins would counter him to death. that is if ward or someone like dirrell comes and beats bute first
Popkins won't get my money for his retirement.Just leave and leave the real fighting to the young warriors.
Have you seen him fight at least? He is a good counter puncher himself. I agree he didn't face any big name yet. But that doesn't prevent me from seeing what i see when i watch him fight...
:-( Doesn't matter wether you think Bute is legit or not, fact is Hopkins has nothing left, he disgraced himself last fight. If you think Hopkins based on his last couple of performances has a chance with Bute you have issues.
It's sad really. Hopkins is becoming so delusional, just like Roy Jones. I noticed it when he started calling out David Haye. I am no big fan of Haye, but it is clear to me that Hopkins would have no chance in that fight. I also think Bute, a potentially great fighter, would beat Hopkins in a clear, but never easy decision.
