Yeah, fair enough, I guess I'm just a bit sick of all the SBW/Hoppa/Webb/Les Mason circus acts...fair enough they may show some talent in the ring but we all know that the likes of SBW aren't going to quit footy to take up a fulltime career in boxing, and that Hoppa is doing it because he has no other high-paying options left available to him.

I've never been a huge fan of Hoppa, despite being a Manly fan - he was a dirty player and it all came out when he was suspended for his antics at the Tigers and then rubbed out when he coathangered Galloway.

Seriously, I have zero interest in seeing him fight. He's not a boxer, and runs out of steam pretty quick. There are many more Aussie HWs out there who have worked longer and harder than him and who should be getting the opportunities he's had and made a meal of (McCall, winning the title off Big Bob then saying he and Solo would never fight each other, etc.)

The only one out of the lot of them that I had any time for was Solo, but he kind of fizzled out - he showed real talent but unfortunately doesn't seem to have the heart/hunger to go with it.

All Hoppa is a big puncher who has to take on all comers for the payday. I give him props for that but please don't build him up to be anything else but that. That chin of his will always cave in from a flush shot.

That was sort of my point, they get somewhere because of their 'name', mundine no doubt got the big pay days for the same reason but he showed a high level of skill to go with the publicity. From an outsider looking in it seems that a lot of fighters talked about from oz have a backround in rugby. Surely it would be better for boxing if fighters like zappavigna were undercards for big fights instead of sonny bill williams vs gary gurr - surely its wrong that someone from the other side of the world should know as much about them as I do about billy dib

Hey, I'm not having a go at Hoppa as such, I just think he's mad for taking such a big leap.

It's good that he has the balls to get in the ring with much better fighters, however I also think that he shouldn't aim that high either.
Mandy could could learn a thing or 2 from Hoppa in that regard. :deal

I personally think that Cameron is far to big a jump, just like McCall was.
There's a few more local heavies he could bang with before he tries it with Cameron.
All this fight will give him is another loss.

The other thing which pisses me off, are peanuts like 'andriy' who attempt to take away your right to have an opinion, **** the douche riding scrotum boy. :tired

It is a bit of a big leap for him, and so was McCall, but when you take up the sport at the age Hoppa did then you're left with little choice.

No. But I'd rather he had a go and failed than not have a go at all like Haumono.
