I mean yes, Tyson can be boring but Hughie takes the cake. Sam Peter a sitting duck and he was doing the same old stuff. Try win the British title outright. You don’t have Tyson’s ability Hughie, and I know youl eventually read this thread Get your head back in reality instead of jumping in with world class fights and trying to jog and slap an cuddle your way to a win
They should prescribe his fights to insomniacs.I stayed alert in the main event but Hughie sent me off to sleep.
A boring gypsy is an oxymoron but Hughie has somehow managed to break the mould. I strongly suspect that Peter's been a naughty boy and he ploughed his seed in a non gypsy woman and thus Hughie's superior gypsy genetics have been diluted with inferior non gypsy ones. To be fair to Hughie he still has that iron gypsy chin and those huge gypsy nads (fighting Parker, Pulev and Povetkin before he he's even hit puberty is very impressive) but I can't stand all that Huggy Bear **** and his soporific pale imitation of Gypsy Slickness is horrific.
You could see in the first 3-4 rounds he was trying to be more aggressive and sit down on his punches. But then for the rest of the fight he just reverted to type. He is definitely one of the most boring HWs out there.
He is awful. I didn’t watch the fight because he stinks the joint out wherever he goes, but I followed the round by round and it played out as expected. Only English people had him winning, 1 dude had him winning 5-4 going into the tenth? That guy probably thinks he was robbed in the Parker fight too, and is probably wandering around somewhere right now going on that hughie is only 24. My hope is that this is enough to send him back to fighting in school halls against guys more his level. Please please no more Hughie Fury wasting valuable tv time, and let washed up Povetkin get beat by an actual contender.
Basically i'd rather watch dressage (yep that awful "sport" where a horse trots to music). He's that bad.
Being boring is not his biggest problem. The real problem is... That he's just not good enough. He's quite a limited boxer who tries to act like he's good.
He needs to retire while he's ahead. I definitely saw shades of Tye Fields there tonight.... Povetkin on the other hand looked great, considering he hasn't fought for a year, and had double elbow surgery!! if he fights again in 4 months, he will be sharp and on his game. Would love to see him face Ruiz or Ortiz, come on Povetkin!! we believe in you.
