How can "boxing" fans actually defend this?

GGG hurts these idiots feelings so much they are actually hoping that Cotto-Canelo winner dumps that belt and ducks GGG.
They are praying for a duck. Let that sink in. They are scum of the Earth

    :thumbsup

I remember once upon a time in boxing unifying was a requisite for greatness - now it's all about the press release.

Golovkin told Ward to come down to 164. Canelo is just giving him a dose of his own medicine. lol. Canelo is still young, probably hasn't reached his prime/peak yet. I have no problem with him not moving to 160, but he better fight some of the young talent at 54 then, otherwise he will be viewed as a ducker.

If the winner of Canelo vs Cotto is actually willing to fight Gennady but they come with some bull**** catch weight, GGG should sign for the catch weight, come in at 160, proceed to pay the fines, and beat the **** out of whichever one he is fighting.

I am SICK of catch weights. Mother ****ers making their own divisions and ****. Dumb as hell.

These pretend middleweights are making a mockery of the division. To boldly state: “There’s no secret that me and Miguel are not 160-pounders." when you're about to fight for the World Lineal Middleweight Championship is just absurd beyond reason.

The 155 catchweight should never have been allowed and catchweights, in general, need to be outlawed for any future Title Fights. I want the unification of the WBC strap to be forced so that Golovkin can tidy up this goatf*ck of a sideshow, as soon as possible.

Obviously boxing likes catch weights for whatever reason because they could be gotten rid of with just paperwork. So catch weights are here to stay because apparently boxing politics doesn't seem to believe there's a problem there. And why would they, it's the a-side that always gets the advantage, which is the guy they want to win anyway since they make more from him and they promote the sport. People might as well accept it because I believe they're looking at it from a business stance, and there's just no arguing with that.

Why doesn't the plethora of governothing bodies create a super-light-middleweight division to cater for marquee name fighters, who've forgotten they're sportspeople.

I don't get it, can't make 154 but stages 160 lb title fights at 155. Just lose the extra pound and stay at 154

It's getting to be embarrassing for the sport that the 160 lb title is being hostaged by 154lbers staging 154lb title fights for the 160 lb belt while freezing out the best guy at 160

GGG fans need to stop crying if y'all didn't hype him as some ATG for doing nothing, while his team says everyone in 3 divisions is scared he wouldn't be in this position and would get more credit for his subpar opposition.

People keep talking about Alvarez's weight, let me ask this Pacquiao at 122/26 came into the ring weighing the same as Mayweather at 147/54 who is bigger?

As far as I know technically 154.1 is MW, but in a non title fight I've never heard of .5/1 lb being a big deal. Fought Lara @55 both came in 170, fought Angulo/Kirkland @54.5 both came in around the same.
Fighting rated JMWs, in fight's that effect JMW standings, equals a JMW.

The Cotto fight is a huge fight that would of happened regardless of title, and while I agree catchweights for Title's aren't really my thing.

What is the difference between Alvarez dropping the Title then fighting GGG at 55 or keeping it and fighting him at 55? If you think he's gonna win he should win regardless.

You say Canelo is scared, you say he's a bum that would get KO'd, well go to 55, since you can make 154, get your signature fight, and win its just that simple.

When Alvarez beats Cotto, watch out for a Alvarez/Lara rematch...

...at 155 for the Lineal World Middleweight Championship.

Pretty sure Canelo's not gonna risk his title and PPV opportunities by rematching Lara.

If K2 can't get HBO on board for Lara, what leads us to believe GBP could get Lara approved for HBO.:think
