According to Uncle Oden, Steve Kim is saying Gamboa will not be fighting Rios Apr 14.

In the back of our minds, I'm sure we all knew that Rios was probably a bridge too far for the smaller Gamboa. The only real X factor was if Rios could comfortably make weight. Overall, it was probably best for Gamboa's health and future earnings to duck a younger bigger champion.

At 126 and 130, there's still a few dragons he could slay:

    Broner
    Uchiyama
    Aoh
    Gonzalez
    Salido rematch
    Mikey Garcia
    Gary Russell

Which of these could make up for the disappointment?

Im so dissapointed, I thought he would ko rios at 135, him pussying out was just very weak and will be brought up plenty of times.
He can do everyone a favour by giving broner a beating at 130.

Something tells me that Gamboa is steady following the self destructive path of Joan Guzman. Wasted talent.

As for the Rios fight... Good choice Gamboa.
(you were going to catch a beating of a lifetime)

Good, now Margarito Junior can fight, Broner, DeMarco or go to 140.

What a disappointment this guy is. I don't care who he fights, let him cherry pick someone. Couldn't give two shits.

yes, Gamboa should have never even challenged Rios in the first place, but calling him a coward for not fighting a guy that is pretty much a LIGHT WELTER? come on now, this is a circus match. dont forget that this guy has damn near cleaned out FW and still elite and i believe he can beat Rios. but anyway, if the fight doesnt go down he has a couple of options. but right now, a Broner fight WILL NOT go down if hes still with TR, Russell is too green right now, Mikey wants to fight a title holder but i doubt hed turn down a Gamboa fight but that might not be smart Garcias career.

hes pretty much cleaned out FW so i guess he can fight caballero or rematch salido @ feather weight.

hopefully can fight Broner @ SFW but if not, go after one of the japanese guys

Gamboa is ducking shiet... Gamboa is in beef with Top Rank and Arena. Rios was just in the middle of it. Gamboa believes he can easily beat both Rios and Pacman.

Who gives a ****? Apparently he didn't and that means more to me. Brandon was always far too big for him. He has trouble making 135 because he is so massive for the weight class not for lack of effort.
