Zhang has way better skills than Wilder and has a better tank too. That spells trouble for Joe.
I think the fight may end similarly to Dubois.
That said, Against Wilder is the fittest I've seen Parker and his discipline in sticking to a great game plan was impressive.
Since Dubois I think we are finally seeing urgency from Parker. He's in the best form and condition of his career and I hope he makes a fool of me.

He has been in the ring with Ruiz, Whyte, Joshua, Chisora, Joyce, Wilder, and now Zhang. How is he bad for the sport? He could be boring at times, but the man clearly is a standout in an era of disappearing, disappointing contenders.

Going high low with the jabs id a good tactic. I reckon Joe should also be looking to catch the big Southpaw with lead right hands to keep him guessing

    Control the terms of engagements.

Numerous feints, level changes, and draws to make him think. Make him hesitate to throw with full authority. In between score with dynamic if not powerful leads. Force him to up the pace and take the fight to you or risk losing more rounds. It tires a man. Target the body to speed things up, even if with just a jab. Break his breathing pattern. Zhang would not gass against Joyce because he was in control and calm; Hrgovic made him resync his breath, think, move, and act to contest the scoring of the rounds.

Then employ ring geometry or smother like an octopus. Survive.

If things go well, Zhang will slow down later on. If things go well, Parker will be able to sweep the third act of that survival-horror on the scorecards. He has the unique advantage of being a far smaller, more nimble target than Hrgovic with different defensive orientation; at the same time Filip was 82-80 in reach against the Dragon, Joseph is 76-80 which means he will not be able to potshot and score as easily. He will have to work with a precise footwork and slips, and while it allows for a cleaner, more eye-catching counters, it also carries far more risk.

Parker's tendency to work with a low-lead might be troublesome against Zhang. It's giving up majority of the control over a closed stance of the Orthodox-Southpaw clash. Naturally they will bring it up, but it's the practice that makes the weapon sharp. Not sure how comfortable Parker will feel in such a scenario.

I suspect this and Joyce bouts will once again highlight how educated and well-drilled long guard of Hrgovic is. He could contend with a schooled, olympian southpaw seamlessly at times. Parker might possibly take another approach and just potshot and try to steal rounds with aggressive engagements followed by strong control game or forceful clinch. He is the smaller man after all.

I agree with most that Parker's game plan must focus on speed, body punching and avoidance of getting caught out on the end of Zhang's big punches.

Every once in a while though, Parker must sit down on a headshot or two and really dig in in order to gain respect. But only when he sees a clear opening with no chance of getting countered. Otherwise he should focus solely on the body.

I have to say this, Zhang wont fear Parkers power at all and will be very relaxed in the early to mid rounds. If Parkee boxes smart he can raje the later rounds.
