i quite like cotto hes a good bloke he shows lots of heart in his fights if he had no heart he would of been knocked out in alot of his fights his chin isent great and he pull through everytime
He's definately not been brought along too quickly. He's been brought along too slow. He's fought some nice fighters, but he has not fought any top level guys yet. By the time Jermain Taylor was 26 he had fought Hopkins twice, Floyd had fought Genero Hernandez, Corrales, and Castillo by 26. De La Hoya fought Whitaker, Chavez and Quartey by 26. Pac had fought Barrera, Morales, and Marquez by 26. I could go on but you get the point. Cotto will be 27 this October, and his best victory is against a guy who was coming off a 1 year suspension and had lost 2 straight fights. If Cotto wants to be an elite fighter, he better step it up quickly.
I totally agree. Haters will try to say you don't know for sure and rarara... But I have no doubt what so ever that these fights will take place. He has never bucked over money or opponents before, why would he start now. He is very confident in his team, and very confident in his abilities. All along he has said he will fight whoever his team puts in front of him.
He's been saying it for years...and he has a name...he doesn't have DLH's or Mosely name but he has a name.
who's to say he was moved too slow...what credentials do you have. You have to look at divisions and opportunities...you can't compare apple to oranges...don't be ridiculous.
Can someone please inform me of the Cotto situation? On this site he is regarded as being amazing, which his record testifies to but not knowing enough about his previous opponents such as who they were, were they any good or just names that look good on a record but are not real dangers such as the shot judah.
:huh :verysad Rumor has it Judah had an incredible camp and he looked great physically during the fight. Shot is what Castillo looked like in the Hatton fight...Shot is what Roy looked like in his third fight against Tarver...Shot is what Morales looked like in his second fight against Pacman... Since your a Newbie/full member I'll let you off the hook with this comment but lets try not to let this happen again ok. :smoke
COTTO Screwed Judah and i was more than happy to see that moron big mouth of Judah screwed. Let the best and the more humble Fighters win for all times. Judah the streetfight gambler, what an insult to professional boxing. GO COTTOOOO.. You are the man.
How could Judah possibly be shot when he arguably won 4 rounds against the number one P4P fighter in the sport, knocking him down unofficially, a year earlier? :huh As far as previous opponents go, N'Dou, Maussa, Torres, and Malignaggi all won world titles/belts/trinkets, whatever you want to call it, after fighting Cotto.
Cotto has been fighting decent fighters. I am still not sold on his punch resistance either, but the next 5 fights or so will determine his true standind. I think that Cotto may be overrated by some. Not sure who beats who at 140-147 the upcoming fights. I hope for Mosley - Cotto next, or Hatton - Cotto.
That is not a shot Judah and Cotto with only 26 years old had fought 8 current and former world champions (belt holders) and all of them where not shot, and 5 undefeted fighters, there are not so many fighter with taht resume with only 26 years. I will include 2 olimpic medalist. on that list if that is not a good resume for only a 26 year old fighter what the **** you think is a good resume.
Thanks for putting me straight. I just wanted to know what all the fuss was about as i have only caught one fight (judah) and he does look good but Maligagi, Maussa and N'dou are hardly worthy of real mention when calculating the greatness of a fighter. I have heard alot about him fighting alot of great guys but you people know as well as anyone about cerain fighters having inflated records (im not saying this is Cotto obviously). Did anyone think that Judah could beat Cotto before the fight?
