the fight was the biggest hype of 2007, with all the media and all the sales it did. Then on fight night what do we get? Boring piece of crap, and the one that made it boring was floyd but thats his style and thats the only way he can win against DLH unlike what he did to hatton..

In short the reason was because the 1st fight didn't live up to the hype and considering a lot of people saw the fight worldwide(suppose to bring back boxing) turn out to be a big dissapointment.

Yea including a percentage of the ppvs.
If you read my posts i said PURSE+ppvs which im sure he would also get from a Cotto fight.

Im pretty sure i heard around 15 mil purse for the DLH fight and around 11 mil purse for the Hatton fight.

Cotto vs Mayweather is like the Sugar ray vs Hearns of this current time. We watched both fighters come up and beat everybody they put in front of them. Style wise, Cotto has all the tools to get at Mayweather. It is not OH, mayweather is going to win easy bull****. It wont be easy. Its a challenge for both guys. Cotto is good with timing his punches and fighters with foot speed. But Floyd is more then that. He is a great counter puncher with the best defense in boxing.

    Exactly!^
This is history right here. Isnt that what PBF wants?? or so he says.

Somebody should tell him no one is gonna remember him because of the amount of money he made.

Because Mayweather won that fight comfortably and did it in the most boring way possible and that's exactly wat's gonna happen in the rematch. The fact that it was the highest earning fight of all time (IIRC) is the only reason they're re-matching.

If Cotto beats Margarito (or vice-versa?), what reason does Mayweather have for not fighting the guy?

Anyway, ODLH has already done Mayweather up like a kipper by coming out and saying that he wants to fight Cotto after PBF because he's the man to beat in the division.

Unless of course Mayweather had something to do with that announcement.

Nope; they would not. I don't blame anybody for wanting a rematch after losing by split decision. However, pbf really ought to play the man and tell Oscar that Cotto comes next.

    1) It was a clear win for Floyd IMO.
    2) The general feeling on this board is that people want to see Floyd against Cotto or someone else. Floyd has numerous other challenges at 147.
    3) I think it would be fine if he was fighting say 3-4 times a year, but no, he wants one sideshow fight against a wrestler and then another sideshow fight against a semi-retired moneymaker who he already beat. So you know where he's heart is at.

the first fight was a boring sparring match. The second promises to be the same, a tactical sparring match with Oscar gassing toward the end and PBF tapping his way to victory. Boring slim points win for Mayweather again zzzzzzz this fight has no depth or interest and DLH having Mayweather Sr in his corner is probably the most intrigueing part of this sparring match.

I wonder if PBF has annoyed enough people with his antics to have the judges ready to give DLH a decison if he makes it close.

I criticize Floyd for Doing the fight again, because he is aways sayin how he has nothing elso to prove, none this and that already. But he is going to fight Oscar?

Come on you already did that Floyd, do something meaningful! Oscar is a sure win and big money. His selfish ass is not careing about what the boxing fans want, I don't blame Oscar. It's Floyd that should be taking on Cotto. That's the fight right there.

well oscar pursued the rematch and made floyd an offer which is more that what can be said for arum and cotto. I'm not saying i agree with the rematch but if no offer is made from top rank why should he fight cotto hes not gonna pursue cotto because he is the man you gotta put an offer to him not vice versa

    Because:

    1. There are other more deserving opponents

    2. Oscar is inactive and old and will be only older while Mayweather is in his prime

    3. The fight proved to be boring

    4. Cotto
