if you have the time watch it, its a great fight

Antillon walking him down whilst Soto jabs off the backfoot and throws in some combinations so i doubt the fights are comparable because Rios and him will walk to the centre of the ring and put their heads on each others chests

I watched a documentary of Valero which said the Antillion was the only guy who would get the better of Valero is sparring, due to his lateral style.

Pretty much it. Antillon was the aggressor but Soto had just a bit too much class in the end. He actually made Soto step it up unlike a lot of Humberto's other 135 opponents who let him cruise to wins.

Not great at all. His defence was awful, particularly from the uppercut, which was non-existant. If Rios throws an uppercut, it will land, and it will land hard and clean on Antillon. Everytime Soto threw one it would flush on Antillons chin. He blocked the straight shots quite well, but everything else, Soto was landing with ease.

He walked through a lot of shots early on, Soto was schooling him throughout the first 6, only later on did Humberto slow down and allow Antillon to come on. That was the only reason the fight was close at all. It'll be quite different against Rios, who picks up the pace himself late on. He cut the ring off quite well, and put some decent shots together, but his defence and movement was awful. If it has not improved he will get knocked out against Rios.

Interesting. The only vid I've seen of the 2 sparring is when Valero battered Antillon. I can't remember if he stopped him outright, but I remember the sparring ended early (I think) because Antillon was taking a pounding.

Ive seen, just earlier one 3 rounder which Valero clearly was ontop.

With Valero 3 rounders was pretty much the maximum anyone ever did because of the stress caused by Valeros power.

Hang on it was Jose Armando Santa Cruz I was thinking of.

Urbano Antillion actually got stopped by Valero in sparring, nearly went down.

Most likely, he pretty one dimensional. Unless Rios has a real problem with come forward guys he should win.

But of a random though here. Did you ever see his sparring session with Edwin Valero? Great footage, Edwin hirt him so badly they had to stop it.
