How did Cortez's performance effect Hopkins Calzaghe ???

Yeah I agree, there wasn't must time past from the two fights and it was the 1st thing that sprung into mind during the Calzaghe fight.

Cortex became a dreaded celebrity ref, like colina in the football.

Look man i think you make a couple of fair points in that Cortez was inconsistent in the Mayweather Hatton fight in comparison to Hopkins Calzaghe , but why cant you simply understand that Hopkins is just too good a fighter to get stopped by Joe , im with ya brother , Calzaghe won the fight , but Hopkins after 5 or 6 was emphatically ahead , that has **** all to do with Cortez , he dropped Joe and was implementing a perfect gameplan until Calzaghe figured him out .................. never in a month of Sundays was Hopkins gettin stopped :deal

 

I totally agree that Hopkins was emphatically ahead after 4.

But if Hopkins hadn't have been allowed the breathers towards the end of the fight I think he may have been in serious trouble.

Despite what most people say Joe could still bang one in when he really needed to.

I could definately see a referee's stoppage primary due to Hopkins running out of gas.

Cortez was awful!

Hopkins did anything he wanted in terms of holding and spoiling in that fight.... aswell as those two long breathers he had too.
