I'm sure Buncey said something along the lines of "Bellew is the home fighter, and we're here to see him win" at the top of the show. That would suggest that they would be pro-Bellew, if anything.

Too royle, their all English supporting their countryman, the fight was a clear win for Nathan Cleverly.

I think the whole point in this thread is that not everyone agrees it was a clear win, even the people with the widest scorecards (myself) agrees that there were rounds I scored to Cleverly that could have gone to Bellew.

I certainly do not agree it's an English V Welsh thing.

Remember Reid v Calzaghe, standard Calzaghe win two judges scored it 116-111 to Calzaghe.

Im talking about the reaction to Calzaghe beating Englands #1 on his own patch and the same reaction to Cleverly beating Englands #1 on his own patch on the weekend.

    The locals are in denial.

There's a difference between backing your fighter, and being blindly following your fighter. If it was such a clear win, why did one judge have it a draw? And why was there such outrage about the Parris card?

I'm English and I thought Cleverly won it by a round! Why is there invariably someone on these threads who has to raise the whole issue of which bit of the world we come from? The judges on the night are not all Welsh, yet Cleverly got the decision! And Dave Parris is English and most (all?) the English posters on here think he's an idiot who should never judge a fight again.

If anyone watched that fight (or, for that matter, any fight) and decides who won based on their country of birth then they are an idiot and not a true fan of boxing. But those people are just as likely to come from one country as another.
