The knockdown was bull****. He tripped Peterson with his leg, and shoved him blatantly with his forearms into the ropes.

The 1st point deduction cancels that out on the scorecard. The second point deduction correctly penalized Khan for his constant pushing and holding throughout the fight.

Did Peterson do enough to 'take the belt'? Yes, he was stalking Khan for almost every minute of the fight, and had him running for long stretches of time. Peterson wins.

Btw, knockdown was not legit, but the ref gave it to compensate for the earlier knockdown that he mistakenly ruled a slip. Judge was an extremely poor sport and craved attention a little too much. I knew he was going to be awful the moment he yelled in the mic during the in-ring pre-fight instructions.

I had Khan winning a real close one, but I could also see why Peterson got the decision. He was the agressor and basically made his opponent fight his fight. Good close fight I wouldnt call it robbery like so many are.

Including the refs deductions and the KD1, it would have been 113-112 Peterson. Sorry, I voted draw before reading your post.

114-112 Khan 7/5 rounds, couple of swing rounds but no complaints as Peterson was tremendous, great fight & a re-match is a must.

I had it 113-112 for Khan but accept it was a tough fight to score.

I've since rewatched it and still think Khan just edged it, I guess it depends on how much credit you give for Peterson marauding forward, personally I think Khan was coping for the first two minutes and outlanding Lamont in a lot of the close rounds only to slow in the last minute.

Yes, Peterson was throwing with a little more conviction at times but I think the oohs and ahhs of the crowd affected some peoples scoring :yep

113-112, could've gone either way but more likely for Khan to win.
