Just watched the fight. I had it a draw. Solis was doing well early until Tony increased his workrate and took advantage or Solis' very low output. This is how I scored it:

    01 Solis
    02 Solis
    03 Tony
    04 Solis
    05 Tony
    06 Tony
    07 Tony
    08 Tony
    09 Solis
    10 Solis
    11 Tony
    12 Solis

I think that there should be a rematch as the fight was very close. Solis lost all of the rounds by basically doing nothing and losing to Thompson's activity even Tony himself didn't land many punches of note.

If nothing, I'm happy that Tony keeps collecting relatively solid paychecks and no doubt he has another good fight set down the line.

As for Solis, he has everything he needs to be a major player, too bad he lacks determination and dedication which likely turned his pro career into a disappointment. Hopefully he gets (at best) one more opportunity to fix the situation and get back on the track.

Solis blocked most of the Thompson shots, and Solis hit more cleaner shots than Thompson even Thompson had higher workrate. 6-6 could be a draw, it was very close fight. Rematch isn't good thing, Solis doesn't deserve it because he certainly isn't motivated to get in shape.

I had a a draw 114-114, but Solis did not deserve to win.
I was glad that Thompson won, he worked harder.

The outcome couldn't be a draw nor defeat for Thompson. I scored the bout 117-113, he simply outboxed Solis.

I fell asleep half way through, I remember solis winning some early rounds and outboxing Thompson whilst showing some real skill. A shame that he is so fat and unmotivated

I had it a draw. Neither fighter actually controlled the fight. It seemed more like a sparring session to me.

Solis has the Riddick Bowe syndrome. He does not eat well, does not train and lacks motivation. Too bad becasue he is 10x more skilled than someone like Thompson.

After 4 rds i had it 2-2 although i could have had it 3-1 Thompson too.
After 8 rds i had it 5-3 Thompson.
    After 12 rds i had it 7-5 (115-113) Thompson.

One of the few times when the WBC open scoring actually helped make a fight more interesting then it was. The first four rds of this fight were painfully dull, it was only after the open scoring was announced in the 5th rd with Thompson behind on all 3 scorecards that it became watchable as Thompson clearly upped his workrate and started to attack Solis with renewed energy. Same thing happened in the 9th when Thompson was announced as being ahead, it forced Solis to finally come out of his shell and throw more punches.

I wouldn't say Thompson outboxed Solis, it was more a case of outworking him and the fact he threw over 1092 punches compared to Solis' 460 punches tells you the story of the fight.

    116-112 Thompson.

Solis was a wet napkin as the fight wore on.

116-112 Thompson, close but clear decision.
