How often do you see one punch clean knockouts?

It's normally one shot that stuns oppoen5 then you finish them off. Obviously in sparring you can land that shot but it's bit naughty to finish them off. But it does happen some guys wanna taste blood

Lawrie Okolie and Price KO'd a certain glass chinned hype in sparring. 16oz gloves and head guard, tee hee.

I hate when people say sparring is for "tapping, just to learn things, just some light lessons"

That is NOT what sparring is, nor should be. People saying trainers are wrong in encouraging hard sparring...
I've had hard spars. It's what separates the men from the boys. If you're there to take it easy, you're in the wrong sport.

if Joshua would "knock you out with the first good punch he lands" in sparring with huge gloves and a headguard....why can't he do it in a real fight with 10oz gloves on...unless its Zumbano Love

I think it depends on the coach (if they're a believer in hard sparring) and also the athletes age/injuries. I can't see Rios, Bradley or Prvodinikov doing hard sparring after a lot of punishment but I'm sure most of the new crop would be going hard with 16oz. Each to their own.

Correct, anybody that's say anything different have not been in a pro gym and seen real sparring.

    It's simply really. ....

In sparring, the 'opponent' is paid to stand up to the punches.
In the "real fights", the 'opponent' is often paid to lay down !

Such idealistic naive guff needs to be treated with hilarity, quite simple because its laughably daft.

Everyone is different. Some boxers like to spar the way they would fight for real aka Mike Tyson. Others use sparring sessions as a range finder Aka Lennox lewis and others like to use sparring sessions as a defensive drill aka Muhammad Ali. Of course though sparring partners do get hurt from time to time, even knocked out cold. Sparring at the end of the day though is just a fighters personal preference to getting ready for a bout.

Hard sparring yes, a concussed/cut or fractured contestant preferably not.

Gyms all have different styles but any professional boxer has to spar hard.

I'm sure this happens all the time.

Then you got Roach paying Pac and his sparring partners to knock each other down, and you got Kirkland's gym being a hellhole of abuse.
