he's remembered for having one helluva right hand !! having over 100 professional fights fighting the best fighters of his generation winning multiple titles fighting waay out of his natural weight class and still holding his own giving Sugar Ray Leonard his first loss !!
To me, at least he was the greatest ever. He, to me at least stands alone above the rest: Greb, Walcott, Langford, and Robinson are all bowing down to the greatest of the greatest.
Reading thru this thread, I don't understand how people find fault in a guy like Duran. The guy took on tremendous, tremendous challenges in his career. With the exception of the no mas fight, why hold it against him? I wish all fighters were like that.
To me if you can't appreciate Duran you really can't appreciate boxing. He's the very definition of what a fighter should be.
