Bruh, it's a shame but some of these clowns will be in denial until the day they die. No real understanding of boxing, never been close to a ring, couldn't pivot off their lead foot to save their life, probably never been in any kind of fight in their life but they know everything there is to know about boxing and Floyd, in particular. Always makes me chuckle and smh.
That is a somewhat different question than: How Do You Fight A Prime ATG? Which I feel I have answered as best as I can. In response to your supplementary question: I don't see any prime ATGs on Mayweather's résumé. Corrales and Castillo could be considered Fighters in their prime, whose stocks were rising at the time Floyd fought them. But, I wouldn't rate them as ATGs and I doubt history will either; ironically because each of them went on to cancel out any chance of the other recovering and raising their stocks. Nonetheless, Mayweather's run at 130 is fairly impressive. Unfortunately, from Castillo II (at 135) onwards, it all becomes a bit dubious, questionable or downright mediocre for a talent such as Mayweather's. There are some highlights but nothing that will truly live long in the memory for me, I'm afraid.
Once again more excuses ..20 yrs in the game and never went after a top dog in their prime , This isn't hate this is facts. He dominated nothing when he chose the easiest opponents! Waited on the right time to rack up the names .You can spin it all you want but he waited for everyone else to fight it out before taking them on ..If you want to give Mayweather those names then fine I'll give Canelo credit for beating the same Molsey ..Lets give Hatton Castillo as well since both Hatton and Floyd fought him .. What else oh Gatti lets give Alfonso Gomez credit because he also beat Gatti who is a hall of famer .. But hey your right he dominated this era good for him..
Every fighters career could of been greater, the point is hardly any fighters career and resume is as great as Floyd's...So if he doesn't have a great career/resume then nobody does!
Baldomir was the Real Champ, had the bigger wins then, and fought better fighters for his career than Margarito Nobody knew who Williams was til 08 and Cotto is on record saying he ducked Mayweather at that time. Judah is more accomplished than Williams. Martinez is an interesting fight but never fought at MW, Ortiz was the first of unifying 3 WW Titles. Pacquiao ducked Mayweather for Clottey and ducked that version of Mosley saying he was to good. Prime Mosley ducked Mayweather for years also when Mayweather had his first fight at WW Mosley was coming off a loss at JMW. Mayweather has beaten the LEGITIMATE CHAMP, or #1 Rated fighter at least twice in 4/5 divisions.
deal Sadly haters will say these are "excuses" as opposed to just facts but at least some people still live in the real world. It seems the Internet causes people to feel better about themselves criticising successful people to somehow make them feel relevant to it all.
if you consider floyd's cheating now when pac is already past prime, you would think floyd was the one who ducked him with RBT cut off date. it took him five long years to have the guts to finally face pac and still fought scared when he is bigger, still faster, and supposedly more skilled. hehehe, you just have to ignore his cheating to keep on believing on floyd's supposed greatness.
You seriously think all those guys were prime? The best fighters Floyd beat in their prime were Castillo(1-1 against), Chico, and Hatton. All good fighters but none are great.Mosley and Delahoya were prime in the early 2000's.Pac 07-2010 and Floyd wasn't prime either when they fought. Marquez lol. It's not hating on Floyd, these are just the facts
Floyd's opponents only fought Floyd when they thought they were ready, if you claiming Floyd waited them out then how is it he only seems to fight opponents after their biggest victories? It's Salt Water that fights guys coming off their biggest losses, he is the fighter waiting then out! Open your eyes and see truth, we don't have to lie to you to prove a point!
And that is just it, through the term ATG out the window. Floyd has barely faced any ELITE and PRIME fighters over 49 fights. Yes he's faced elites, who were years past their best so doesn't count nearly as much when they had already been beaten several times. The guys you mentioned are the only elite/prime fighters floyd faced - castillo and corrales. And you don't get many opportunities to face guys like this but when you do and you constantly choose a non elite or elite, non prime fighter, its pathetic. Floyd had those opportunities though and almost everytime he chose someone else. He passed on fights with prime Mosley at LW, Frietas, Tsyu, Williams and prime Pac. And now he's thrown away the fight with GGG for andre the bum berto. These are the wins that Floyd needed to come anywhere close to his TBE claim being true. Also, lets say GGG was a few years off his prime and had already been beaten a couple times, I guarantee you FLoyd would have fought him then, because that is exactly how floyd operates. He waits them out, waits until he is sure he can beat them and only then will he step in the ring with them. Also, when was the last time Floyd took a fight where he wasn't the heavy favorite? there's always a challenge out there for every champ, and its going against the odds and coming out on top where the truly greats dare to go. That is what makes a great fighter, not hand picking opponents that you're sure you can beat. Every win Floyd's had almost his whole career was against guys everyone expected him to beat. That is not great, not at all. But Floyd's whole M.O is look great against less than great opponents, instead of risking a defeat and looking bad against another great opponent. Lets face it, there aren't ALOT of fighters around Floyd's level, but when there has been, Floyd stays far away from them, with exception of Castillo and Corrales.
I disagree, you simply like to claim they were past prime or too green when they lose to Floyd. For instance Cotto -Canelo is being called a superfight in 2015. How can that be if they are not prime or relevant?
