You really haven’t been listening at all.

Mayweather and Lewis got their Super titles via promotion/gift same way Golovkin got his, same way it was given to Sturm before him and so on, so on.

At the time Golovkin had regular belt, there was an actual interim one, in fact, it existed all the way to 2017.

And again, it doesn’t really matter what anyone’s opinion on this is, facts are there.

Yes they all got promoted to superstatus but they were the full champs to begin with not interim champs. If you made this argument for Sturm it would apply but the moment they made the super world champ, the regular/world champ became a fake belt. Those are the facts.

Hold the phone, you do realise that Golovkin was the regular champ, not interim, when he got promoted? So, if it applies to Sturm and other “real champs” as you said, it applies to him?
WBA had 3 titles from around 2003 to 2017. You can’t have 2 interims and only 1 “real” belt, especially given how the super was acquired back then.

Golovkins defenses have been counted from the moment he became the regular champ.

Felix Sturm was the real WBA Champ , Golovkin wasn't.

All those trinket defenses were against non top 10 ranked bums. Holding a second tier belt doesn't make those opponents any better or make his resume any deeper.

You’re not understanding dude. Strum was WBA super champ when GGG won the regular title. That’s why his WBA defenses don’t count until he won the super title in 2014. He only has 10 defenses of the WBA title

This is like banging my head on a wall. This should clear this all up, in 2008 Nate Campbell was recognised as the undisputed champ by the WBA even when there was a regular belt. GGG was made the super champ after the WBA stripped Geale, he was the regular before then, his defences of the WBA regular belt got him the status of the full champ but they count as full title defences.

Of course Sturm was super when Golovkin got the regular strap, Sturm only got the Super strap to avoid his mandatory, Golovkin, and that’s how regular became vacant.

What is so hard to grasp, you get the super strap by defending regular 5 times or unifying with other alphabets.
Can you unify with a “second tier”, “interim level” belt? No.

To discredit regular strap means to discredit Sturms claim of being a legit champ before he weazeled his way out of fighting Golovkin and got promoted to super champ.

    Quite an interesting read

Sturm was a PAPER champ you pathetic hater. Sturm beat a nobody to become the WBA Super Champ, after ducking his mandatory Golovkin. No one cares which BS trinket he had, he was the definition of a paper champ.

LOL, by your logic, Mayweather is better than G! In fact, FM is better than all of them. Money has nothing to do with how skilled a fighter is. If that we're the case, G would have been booking million dollar fights 10 years ago.

Does'nt mean he's not an excellent champion, but there's nothing exrtoardinary about his resume.
Imo he lost to the 2 best fighters on it, so there you go.

As long as the WBA has a super title, the regular title is worthless. It sucks for GGG but that’s why no one should give a f*ck about the WBA, WBC, etc. because they are not interested in doing the right thing. you shouldn’t use titles to measure greatness.

I’m not measuring anyone’s greatness by titles or number of their defenses, I wanted to get to the bottom of this, cuz I can be nerdy sometimes, and I believe I have.

WBA is a joke for messing this up so much but even in their mess, they created a set of rules going by which they could have 3 champs at the same time, 2 of them able to unify and defend titles - super (unified/regular defended enough times) and regular (not yet unified/ not defended enough times. Title was real, defenses were real.
