Now this isnt a Scottish bashing thread or trying to kick off an argument, but where do you see Burns going from here?I think he is a cracking fella, his performance against Martinez was sensational and i really enjoyed it.However i think that performance was a once in a lifetime night for a fighter who is doing a bit more in his career than he should be doing in terms of ability.
Saturdays performance against the pedestrian Norwegian got me thinking that Kevin Mitchell would take him to the cleaners if he came back down to super featherweight.Although the Norwegian(whos name escapes me)
had bags of heart he just charged forward and threw wildly and Martinez was a better version of that style.
I think Mitchell has a bit more boxing ability than those 2 and will get through to Burns chin a lot more readily.Combine that with Mitchells power down a weight and after Burns has been on the floor 2 or 3 times i see Mitchell winning by K.O before the latter rounds.

I'd pay hard cash to see you getting decked out. Won't be so quick to mock people getting knocked out then.

Mitchell slipped up moving up in weight chasing a non attainable fight with Khan.Katsidis was just to powerful for him.Mitchells chin was fine at super feather and he always looked to me that he was to small to move up a weight.I think Burns chin isnt all that and Mitchell has the skills to get to it.Only an opinion of course.

:rofl You would be wasting your money then minion as I have an Iron Chin , as was demontsrated in my brutal reign of terror when I held the prestigious OLBF East Anglian Intercontinental Flyweight Interim Championship from the ages of 3-6. I still hold a record of 97 defenses of that title.:fire:fire :fire

Warren wants to get Mzonke Fana to unify the IBF and WBO, if this comes off could be the biggest fight Glasgow's seen since the days of Harrison

Burns has been down 4 times in his career (that I know of), Mitchell 0 times.

All I'm saying is how can he rate Mitchell as having a 'glass jaw', whilst Burns has a solid one according to him? Look at Johanneson, a common opponent, he teed off on Mitchell, but didn't drop him (had him hurt though), whereas he floored Burns three times (although two were body shots admittedly).

I think he is a cracking fighter, all guts and heart.
Not the most talented out there but he comes to fight and even last week when he performed badly gave a good showing.
I think his time as a belt holder is going to be limited though.
His next step up in class will be his failing i'm afraid.
