How do you think the Super 6 could have been run smoother/better?

Harsher punishments for dropping out perhaps? etc

Maybe a league format is just one that doesn't work in boxing? There must be an alternative to the ABC spaghetti medley.

    What do you think?

Well i think there was always going to be a element of risk attached to this type comp because it's the first stages of it. The first issue was Ward getting home territory.

They should of sorted that right off..no way should of they allowed that to slide along. I think Knockout Phases would of speed-ed up process and kept up the interest but at the same time then guys like Dirrell who are immensely talented would of been gone early doors to a close decision. I think Ward as much as i love the guy as a fighter has been given a bit to much compared to others.

I would of liked the opening night to of had all the fights on there and then kept the fighters to a strict schedule..it is a tournament after all...

The fight camp 360' is brilliant that's what's been good.

Fight every 4 months I think would be a reasonable request of the fighters. It'd make the whole thing flow a little more.

You'd never have had a tournament without a group stage - nobody was going to sign on without a chance to come back from a defeat.

I would have liked to have seen eight boxers involved. Tournament format of two groups of four with the winners of each group meeting in the Final, runners up in a 3/4th play off. Each group 'matchday' is a doubleheader, with every fighter getting the chance to fight at home once.

    What would you suggest? lashes??

Suppose the only other system is a Super 8 with a KO format.

But whatever system you have if fighter get injured there is **** all you can do unless you force them to fight injured.

I haven't got many complaints with it but:

-They should have ****ed Green off and went to semi's as planned.
-They should have established the rules about the venue clearly.

Would work better with all younger fighters, it's the injuries that have killed it. Could have worked better with younger hungrier fighters. I would say like Ward and Dirrell, but those 2 fannys are the worst of the lot. Whinny bitches.

The only way it would of worked is if there were no injuries and no delays but they could never make that work for sure.

Also they should of all fought on the same card everytime which would of got everyone buying the PPV's and really interested, also could of filled massive arena's.

Also weigh-ins would of been awesome with all six fighters sitting at the table before the fights with guys that beat them in the last fight etc.

Awesome TV, which would of got people (even casual fans) really interested.

everyones going to say fight more regularly but thats impossible these days.

I don't agree with fighting on the same card. Spreading it out was good.

This might sound a little strange, but would it have worked better with more in than league. Like still have lets say 4 fights to get to the knockouts, but if you had 8 or 10 fighters, if somebody got an injury thats no big deal, just fight somebody else. If somebody needs a layoff thats grand too, somebody else who's alright can fight. More fights, more money. Not all top level fights easy, some easy guys would have been thrown it which would make the top guys like it more. You could seed it so you had to face maybe 2 top seeds, and 2 lower seeds.

    Better or worse?

    True.

In hindsight, maybe a four man tournament would be better, have 2 semi finals
then have the 2 losing semi finalists box on the undercard of the final with whoever wins getting a crack at the tournament winner next.

Would be much quicker and easier to organise.
Although there would obviously be issues with that format as well, but it would guarantee at least 2 paydays for the fighters

    In summary:
You can please all the people some of the time
You can please some of the people all of the time
But you can't please all of the people all of the time

Agreed a four man touney is the way to go.Two quality cards, easy to replace an injured opponent and it's over quickly. The "Stupid 6" was a silly format that was bound to have major trouble from the very beginning.

Set the dates and venues at the start of the tournament.

    Fight every 4 months.

    Two fights per card.

No extra points for knock outs, just points for win/draw/lose

If Fighter gets injured, make time at end of designated tournament time for fight.

Allow fighter who misses out due to opponent injury have the option of fighting another opponent outside of the super six on scheduled card for no super 6 points.

I compleatly disagree with you here, what is your reasoning?

My reasoning is they would sell big on PPV's and get people interested so sell big again.

Weigh-ins with all 6 fighters would really build it up.

They can move each set of fights to a different big arena around the world. Every arena would sell out as you would always have 6 top fighters.

I can go on but would prefer to hear your logic first.
