Lol if Mikey was a quitter he would've quit in the Lipinets fight, he gave Mikey a way tougher fight than Salido. Salido f'd up Mikey's nose with that headbutt no sense in continuing with his dirty ass.

The only thing Garcia see's is a socially acceptable way to duck Lomachenko, get a nice pay day, and earn "respect" from dumb boxing fans.

This is the new move in boxing - jump two weight classes, claim you're a "G", "warrior", "chasing legacy".... and then getting your **** pushed in on fight night. And why? To avoid, at any and all costs, the possibility of losing to a smaller man.

Saw it with both Khan and Brook. Both had serious damage done to them. Garcia will be beat like a dog in there and will likely have lasting damage done. However, in his mind that's better than having your ears boxed off for 12 rounds by little Lomachenko in front of millions.

After a savage knockout (Khan) or having multiple facial bones crushed in (Brook) he can then chase other pay days against guys like Loma and if/when embarrassed, "b-b-but im not the same as before Spence, b-b-b-but at least i had the BALLS!"

Quite the opposite of balls, it's a sick mentality that's becoming common to duck an opponent.

It will be interesting to see if he goes down and refuses to get up, or if Robert will do what he wouldn't do to save Margarito's career and wisely throws in the towel.

 

Mikey's not dumb. Neither is his brother. I really see this fight ending extremely quickly and controversially. Maybe Mikey goes down on the first flush body shot.

 

He's not going to beat Spence. I actually think Mikey is the more skilled/polished fighter. But the size disparity is far too much to overcome that with slight edge in skill.

what a bunch of crock. Mikey has a better chance of beating Loma than Spence. If Salido can make it tough for Loma, you doh't think Mikey can? I don't know who wins between Loma and Garcia but it would definitely be Loma's toughest test. I would slightly favor Loma but not by much.

 

I wish I could offer a strategy, but I don't really see any thing he can do. The truth is this, he's already being anointed as the/a winner just because he's fighting Spence, so really he's already winning reguardless of the outcome. My question is how can he lose, when he has already won. If he goes the distance he's won, if he loses in any fashion he's won (just for fight the boogie man), if he actually wins he's the biggest name in boxing and an ATG(I'm exaggerating with the ATG) but you get my point. It's a win-win situation for Garcia. On the other hand there's a few ways Spence can lose.

Course he has better chance of beating Loma, but that isn't the point. If he gets beat by Spence, no big deal, he was supposed to lose. If he he gets beat by Loma, then he will have been beaten by a much smaller man.

Also, that was Loma is his 2nd pro bout, and he has improved ridiculous amounts since then

 

But, in essence, it might be something like "straight right hands against Spence's hooks".
